It was Aditya, standing in front of her with a fractured hand and a sad smile. Hearing his words, Meera came out of her shocked state and asked in fear,
"A... Adi, why are you here? What are you doing here? Please go away. I don't want to talk to you about anything. Our so-called friendship ended that day, so please leave and never try to contact me again."
As she spoke, she began to look around in fear. What she didn't realise was that someone was already glaring at them from a distance, filled with anger or perhaps jealousy.
On one hand, she felt guilty about his condition, but on the other hand, she was angry with him for what he had done. She wanted to protect him from her so-called husband, yet she also wanted to slap him hard for not cancelling their engagement and for creating all this fuss.Upon hearing her, even the small smile faded from Aditya's face, replaced by a frown. Confused, he asked her,
"What do you mean, Meera? We were almost engaged that day. I know I made a mistake by not denying the engagement, and I apologise for that. I... actually... started to like you. I started falling for you. When I found out that my family accused you of causing my situation that day, I went to your office to meet you. That's when I learned that you got transferred here as a promotion, so I came here to apologise on behalf of my family."
Hearing him, Meera looked at him with wide eyes. As he continued, he said,
"I am really sorry for what they did and said that day. I'm truly sorry. Please give me one chance to prove my feelings, at least, Meera."
Listening to him, she maintained a straight face and replied,
"Look, Adi, what we had between us has already ended in every way. There is no chance left for anything. I don't blame them for what they said, because knowingly or unknowingly, I am the reason for your current state. So please, don't try to contact me in any way again, because it will only make your life worse. It's better if you don't risk your life like this."
Hearing her, he closed his eyes, took a deep sigh, and said,
"Okay, I understand. You never gave any hope for our relationship. I've always held onto the hope for us to be together, but please, I am really sorry. I ask for your forgiveness, and I feel guilty for what my family did to you, especially. Nothing seems to be going right for us, so please forgive me."
As he tried to hold her hand, Vedansh suddenly appeared in front of Meera. Upon seeing him, both Meera and Aditya were taken aback, their eyes wide with shock. Vedansh, unfazed, directed his anger towards Aditya and said,
"Can't you understand that she is not ready to talk to you? When she said no, it meant no. Just leave..."
Hearing this, Aditya felt a surge of frustration and replied with the same attitude,
"Who the hell are you to stop me from talking to her? What are you to her?"
Hearing this, Meera tried to stop him by saying something, but before she could, Vedansh spoke in a deep, angry voice.
