*THIRD YEAR*

*Ami's pov*

Parking my bike in the same spot I have done for three years, I take off my headphones that were playing The Smith's 'There's a Light That Never Goes Out'. Breathing in a fresh air I think to myself, this is my year and no one is getting in the wa-. "Is that the guy in third year?" Some girl slapped her friend gawping.
"Yeah, what's his name again?"
"I don't know and frankly I don't care as long as he is mine."
"No, he is too attractive to be yours, he's mine just you wait." Confused, I spin around to look at the person creating the chaos. And it was- OLLIE? OLLIE LYNCH? There's no fucking wa-. "Ay dipshit, I know you've had a glow up and whatever, but still don't talk to me at school." Tadhg, Ollie's older brother, warned slamming his car door shut. "Yeah, yeah whatever." The curly blonde said in response, mirroring his older brother's actions. He was the same curly haired blonde but with a completely new hairstyle? Whoa, he's grown way taller. What the hell? 6 foot I would say. His cheek bones are sharp just like how his muscles were showing straight through his school shirt. Wait, hold on. Muscles??? Who is this and what the fuck did he do to Ollie? The only thing that new Ollie was wearing that old Ollie also wore was his glasses. Girls from my year, and a few bold second years, began to run up to him crowding around him. There was a gap though, in between them which was how I caught sight of his massive white smile. "Hey girls." He clipped his head politely and to my surprise, stepped through the circle with his hand gripping his black rucksack. Clearly flustered, he picked up his pace towards the school as some girls tried to follow him. "Weird right?"
"Ahhh!" I screamed jumping out of my thoughts. "I'm not that scary, am I?" My best friend said putting her hand on her heart. "You scared me."
"No, you scared me!" I laughed. Linking her arm in mine, Maeve set of in the direction to our massive school building. "You were literally drooling back there."
"No I wasn't."
"Oh honey, you were. I can even see a bit of drool here." She said reaching to my neck and then to my dismay started tickling me. "Hey! Stop!" I uncontrollably laughed. "Only when you can admit it."

Cleaning my desk with my hand, I lower onto my seat placed at the front. Yes, the front. I have gone from 'ew not the front, that's where the nerds sit' to 'let me race to the front'. I actually need to do so well this year, this is my year to shine. After pulling out all my books on the desk, I look around to assess my classmates when... OLLIE? You've got to be kidding me. He was sitting right next to me, staring at me with his big brown eyes and a smirk painted on his face, his dimples now more prominent than ever. "Can't get rid of me that easily." Even his voice had changed? What? It was no longer as high pitched but instead deeper. "Why me." I shake my head. "Cause you're the one that avoided me all year after you tried to ki-"
I lean over and put my hand over his mouth to shush him. "Now why you say that here?" Our eyes lock as he pushes my hand back down gently. "Why won't you talk to me again? It took so long to get you to talk and then you just ignored me." I blush instantly feeling bad. "I'm talking to you now, aren't I?"
"It isn't the same, Am. Talk to me again."
"Alright class, settle down." Our new teacher, Miss Sparks said. She was a rosey cheeked, fair brunette with a smile drawn on her face. "This is our third year so time to get serious."
"I'm getting serious with the bedroom alright." Liam smirked. "Liam!" Alana gasped. "Don't say that here with everyone around!"
"Sorry baby, I'm just excited to test our new skills." Liam sniggered.
"You're in third year guys, it's time to stop with the immature jokes, yeah?" Our teacher winced. "Yes, Miss Sparks." Alana replied.
"Yes, Miss Sparks." Liam repeated, rolling his eyes. "Great! Now let's start."

I always thought Biology was an impossible subject but with the tutoring in the holidays, it was like a walk in the park. We had to do a mini test out of twenty and then swap our books to mark our partners. "Now swap back and see your scores." Miss Sparks said from her desk at the front. I turn to Ollie who was giving mine back and who also gave me a wink. I look down at my paper that said 20/20 and a smiley face drawn next to it. Haha! I knew I would do well. My eyes widen as I stare at the scrap piece of paper sitting on the bottom of my page. On it wrote 'I didn't know you were that smart Carter, but let's see if you can beat me'. I whipped my head around to stare at the culprit who just shrugged in response. I lower my eyes, "You won't know what hit you, Lynch."
