*Ami's pov*

A honk filled my ears letting me know Declan was outside. "Okay, love you both and see you la-"
"No. He has to knock on the door and meet us first." My dad stands firmly in place letting me know he won't budge.
"Ollie wouldn't have done that." My mum huffs under her breath.
"Mum!" I roar at her. "I heard that!" She didn't need to remind me of how I still wished that was Ollie in the car. Another honk filled the silence. I groan pulling out my phone. I text my date to tell him he needs to come in first. A knock sounded when he received my text. I sarcastically smile at my parents. "Happy?"
Declan steps through the front door with a worried look on his face. "Hey sorry I didn't say hi but I left the car running a-"
"You step inside before you take my daughter anywhere." My father said, authority radiating through him.
"Sorry Sir."
"Now where are you talking my daughter?"
"Il Palio, Sir. It's this fanc-"
"I know what that is." My dad snapped.
"Father." I give him a fake smile whilst talking through my teeth. "Be nice to our guest." My dad looks him up and down, shrugs but doesn't take his eyes off him. Damn, talk about untrustworthy.

"Table for two please." Declan said to the waiter. He leads me through the restaurant and sits down on one of the chairs. My eye twitches as I realise that he doesn't have basic decorum, I had to pull out my own chair. "Okay, what do you want to talk about?" We had been sitting down for a good 20 minutes, ordered and are running out of ideas to talk about quickly. "How are you feeling after that breakup?" It was like a zoom in into my face. Come on, why is it his business? "Fine. I'm fine." I strangle out.
"Does that mean that you can date?" He winks at me.
"I guess so." I knew what he was hinting at but frankly I couldn't be asked.
"Would you regularly date me then?"
"What you mean be your girlfriend?"
"Yes." Okay, this was all going way too fast for my liking.
"I need to think about it first if you don't mind." I see his eye twitch. "Please." I add in for safe measures.
"It's whatever. Tell me when you want, I'll be waiting." I give him a half hearted smile and turn back to fiddling with my pasta, appetite lost.

There was no need to bore you with the details of this dinner. It was not bad but definitely not good. Or maybe this is what normal dinner feels like without Ollie. I throw my head in my hands steadying myself, calming my thoughts whilst sitting on my bed. "Come on, Cinammon." I pat the space on the bed next to me. "Come to Mumma." She jumps up and snuggles on my lap. At least I know someone in my life is loyal.
