*Ollie's pov*

It was my first day of second year. I inspected the people around me, the people who would be in the same class as me for the next year. I only spotted one of my friends, Finn, and a few guys on the football team with me that I was friendlyish with. There were a few random girls, and Ami. She seemed nice at first when I met her last year, but we never really got close. She dated this guy called Kieron, who actually pisses me off. He's too cocky and definitely wasn't good for that girl, not that I care anyway, it's not like we're friends or anything. Taking a second glance at her, I noticed she looked a bit sad. Her eye bags seemed more prominent than usual, not that I've been looking at her that closely by the way! Knowing through my experience of going through some tough shit, people checking on you does seem to make it a bit better. I caught her eye across the classroom and mouthed, "You okay?" She looked at me warily then with no words, looked directly down at her desk again. Geez, so much for trying, I guess we won't be crossing paths much this year either.
......
The bell rang and last period French finally ended, it was for sure my least favourite subject. "I'll text you later Finn, I've got training after school remember?" I reminded my best friend, who was frantically trying to make plans with me and Aidan. "Ah right, forgot about that. Catch you later then lad!" He yelled across the hoards of kids. I quickly headed towards the changing rooms to change into my kit. Unlike my brothers, my sport of choice was football rather than hurling. My shirt read the number 5 and I usually played as a striker. Honestly, if it weren't for my goal of becoming a barrister like my dad, I seriously would've considered football as a profession. All of a sudden, like a hurricane, a girl brushed past me in a hurry to get the hell out of here, or so it seemed. Once glance at that hair, I knew exactly who it was. Not having learned my lesson from before, I called out "Hey, Carter wait up!" She slowed down a little, so I could catch up. I grabbed her arm, "Are you okay?" I asked softly.
She hesitated a little, before snapping, "I'm fine Ollie, now leave me alone." She snatched her arm away and stomped off, leaving me standing there hopelesssly. I knew something was up with her, but maybe it wasn't my place to find out.

"CMON LYNCHY!" My teammates yelled as I sprinted through the tinest gap, dodging and weaving between two of the opposing players, managing to score a goal. Upside to being one of the smallest on the team I guess, and yes I still am waiting for that growthspurt. I grinned wolfishly, as they all ran up to slap me on the back, achievement shining in my eyes.
