*Ami's pov*

I stare at Ollie's sleepy figure in the morning. He was so charmingly peaceful it made my heart race. His blonde curls mounted on the top of his head, his chest rising and falling gently. He could have been mistaken as a statue. "If you watch me, I can't sleep." He laughs, eyes still closed.
"But you are a handsome birthday boy." His eyes flick open then, his smile growing by the second. "So you aren't mad at me anymore?"
"Life is too short." I smirk as his whole face lights up. "And it's your birthday." He pulls me into him, kissing my forehead. I turn so he is spooning me. "I can't take it when you're mad." He whispers.
"I won't be mad if-"
"I'm going to keep my distance from her." He spits out. A smile grows onto my face. I can't order him to do something so it's nice when he comes to that conclusion himself. "Thank you."
"No problem." And he kisses my cheek.

We sit at all lunch around midday, taking in the beauty of the ocean.
"We only have a few days left." Kai huffs.
"More like two." Maeve joins in.
I don't listen to the rest of my friends' conversation as I turn to look at Mia. I feel like a fool to believe that if Ollie removes himself from her, she will too. But no, she was staring at him wide eyed taking in everything that he was saying. Oh fuck off already. "Am."
I snap out of it. "Yes. Wait, pardon?"
Ollie shakes his head at me, grinning. "I said, I'll beat you at the arcade games. I knew you weren't listening."
"Wait what, no you most definitely won't."
"You already agreed."
"Yes but I didn-"
"We don't do buts."
"Ollie."
"I'm just too good."
"Ollie!"

"And look who came first." Maeve flips her hair over her shoulder. I was in Maeve and Kai's room chilling out after the arcade. "Yeah, yeah." I roll my eyes.
"How are we going to distract Ollie from the surprise?" Kai asks, joing us on the bed.
"I'll find a way to lead him downstairs and then you guys set it up in that party room." We all confirm and I set off in the direction to our room.
"Only a year." I heard someone say when I opened the door.
"No, Mia." I heard Ollie's voice through the crack of the door. I stayed on the other side listening in. Mia?
"She won't know." Won't know what? I pull my head around the door to investigate. Mia was standing inbetween Ollie's legs combing his hair. I saw him pulling away from her each time but made no effort to move. The fuck?
"I love Ami."
"Who said you can't love me more." And with that she leaned forward and kissed him.

It felt like time stopped, I couldn't move. I just stood there stunned, watching the kiss. It lasted a good amount of time before I backed away from the door and collapsed in a ball on the ground. My chest was rising and falling at rapid speed and I couldn't control it. I couldn't breathe and I didn't know what to do. Tears streamed down my face, dropping like the rain on a stormy day. I lifted my shaking hands to try wipe them away but each time I did that, more fell. My head felt so light as I tried to calm myself down. I felt like I was going to pass out. Minutes passed and when I didn't see Ollie come out of that door, I sat there lifeless.
