*Ollie's pov*
I rummage around in my room looking for my white jumper. It was getting cooler on the deck and I wanted to go back outside. "Hey, you." I spin around expecting to find my girlfriend but instead found Mia in the doorway.
"How did you get in?"
"You barely spoke to me today."
"Mhm and there is a reason for that."
"What because of Ami." She pretends to puke as she says her name.
"Let me be and leave Mia, don't cause any trouble."
"That's not how to speak to your friend." She tuts as she does the opposite to what I told her to do- she walks in more.
"Friends don't annoy their friend's girlfriend." I shake my head.
"Relax." She rolls her eyes and sits down on my bed. I just carry on rummaging in my drawers. "Where is she anyway?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Just a question, gosh."
"With Maeve and Kai."
"Right, right."
I walk over and lie down on my bed frustrated that I can't find the jumper. She moves her way into the gap between my legs. I suddenly sit up, "What are you doing?"
She smiles. "I'm fixing your hair, birthday boy."
I tut and give up. There's no point with this girl. "Just keep your space."
She shakes her head. "No."
"What do you mean, no."
"You're the captain of the football team, a tall curly blonde, smart, funny, creative, caring, why would I not like you."
"So you actually like me?"
"Of course I like you." I blink, Ami had been right all along. Was I that stupid not to see it?
"I have a girlfriend who I love and besides why would I go for a minor."
"I'm not a minor."
"Still a difference.
"Only a year."
"No Mia." I pull back from her hand that was combing through my hair.
"She won't know." Now this was bad, I was in a dangerous place.
"I love Ami." I try to get up but she pushes me down a bit.
"Who said you can't love me more." And with that she leans in and kisses me.
It takes around 3 seconds for the brain to register that you are kissing someone, but out of shock it took me way longer. I try to pull back immediately when I realise what was happening but her hand was clamped on the back of my head not letting me. I shove at her chest. "Ow!" She shrieks.
"What do you mean ow! I told you I'm not interested and you didn't even give consent. I'm scared for your future boyfriend." I growl. "You're a bitch, you know that?"
She gasps. "Surprised someone told you the truth for once? I don't like you Mia, I never did." I get up, gathering my things. "Ami doesn't hear a word of this, you hear me?" I point my finger at her.
"Whatever freak." And with that, I stomp my way out. I was so furious I couldn't even think straight.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Ollie, happy birthday to you!" Everyone cheers as I open the door to this room filled with balloons and decorations on the walls. "Thanks everyone." I smile at them. "Come here birthday boy!" Finn clips me on the back.
"Happy birthday little bro." Kai dabs me up.
"Happy birthday, Ols!" Ella hugs me.
"Happy birthday sunshine boy." Maeve grins as I scrunch my face up in confusion.
I greet everyone else but the one person I wanted to the most. I look around and spot her on a chair staring off into the distance. "No greeting for me?" I smile sitting down next to her. She gives me a small smile but doesn't look at me. "Am?"
"Happy birthday, Ols." And with that she gets up leaving me confused.
I try her again a few minutes later. "Am, are you okay?"
"Just enjoy your birthday, Ollie." She still doesn't look at me and I'm certain I see a few tears in her eyes. With that, Ami leaves me alone once again.
I try her once more when she was talking to Maeve. I pull on her arm. "Can I talk to you?"
"About what, Oliver?" This time she does look at me and I see that she had been crying before hand.
"Why you're upset."
"I'm not upset."
"I can clearly see you ar-"
"You wanna talk? Let's talk." She snaps.
"Not if yo-"
"No, you said you wanted to talk so let's fucking talk." I see fury rage through her eyes. Our friends start to walk out through the door with a mix of confusion and sadness scratched on their faces.
"Where is this coming from?"
"Oh I don't know? Maybe when you kissed Mia?" She shouted. I stood there motionless, my nightmare coming to life. How did she know about that stupid fucking kiss when it just happened.
"Oh how do I know?" She pretends to think. "Hmmm, maybe because I saw you both." Tears stream down her face as she begins to break down. "I saw you fucking kiss her." She chokes on her words, tears running down her face so quickly.
"Please let me explain." I choke out.
"There's nothing left to explain."
"There is Am, you got to believe me." Tears start running down my face.
"It gets to the point I don't know who to believe." She cries.
"You can always believe me."
She stares up at me, her brown chocolate eyes filled with tears. I have never seen her this distraught before and my heart feels as if it had been stabbed. I caused this, I caused this pain. "I can't think straight, each time I close my eyes I see you with her."
"I didn't see it coming, she was holding my head so I c-"
"I need a break." She blurts out.
"Then we can take a break." I begin to cry as well.
"No Oliver," She takes a deep breath. "I mean a break from us." Time seemed to stop as I tried to work my brain but it was on shut down mode. "I- i-" Was all I could choke out.
"It's like I don't even know myself anymore."
I was speechless.
"Say something, please." She begs.
Time passes as I finally come to a conclusion. "You know I love you, princess." Tears stream down my face. "And I love so much I can't afford to see you this way." We both start shaking. "And that is the reason why I am going to let you go." She runs to me, hugging me immediately. "Because I love you too fucking much." Shudders racked through the both of us.
