*Ollie's pov*

My eyes flicker open as I try to take in my surroundings. I wasn't sure where I was or why there was pounding in my head and in my left leg. However, the only thing I was sure on was the angelic brunette sleeping next to me, curled up into a ball at my side, looking smaller than ever. Turning to the other side, I spot tubes coming in and out of my arms and also my hospital gown and that's when the details of last night hit me like a firetruck.
"Am?" I whisper around in the darkness. I got no response so I called out again. "Am?" No answer still but there was some whirring in my arms. "Am?" I asked again, brushing her hair with my fingers.
"O-Ols -Ollie?" She sits upright immediately and I spot the dry tears on her face as I switch on my bedside lamp. "Y-you're awake." Her eyes widen and she laughs softly as tears run down her face.
"Don't cry, baby." I whisper softly, drying her tears with my hand. "Of course I woke up. You can never lose me, I'm yours remember."
She draws in breath and smiles at me. "I wouldn't know what to do if I ever lost you."
"You wouldn't ever have to." I pull her chin down to me and kiss her lips softly.
"Come." I whisper, pulling her onto me so I was cuddling her. "Did you really wait all this time to see me?"
"Is that even a question?" She sighs, handling my hair.
My smile faded as I grip onto her wrist, examining the damage. "That fucker!" I growl as I see a red imprint of where his hand had been.
"It's okay, Ols."
"It really isn't. That's what? Abuse?"
"I'm okay now." She gently pulls her wrist away from my hand and stares at me with her big, doey eyes.
"But what if I hadn-"
"But you did." She strokes my cheek, calming me down. I frustratingly growl, mentally kicking myself until she calms me down steadly by kissing me.
"Trust me, I'm okay now."
"We still have to sort this out. It isn't right, we can't just brush it under the carpet."
She bites her nails. "Yeah, you're right."
She stares at my head for a second, frowning and then touches the side of my head. "What's this?" She traces the scar that has haunted me since I was 6 years old.
I huff, mentally fighting myself until I decide to tell her. "Am."
"You okay?"
"Yeah, baby. I just need to tell you something. It's time you knew."
"Okay."
"So you do know how John and Edel aren't my actual parents."
"Yeah." She shudders in my arms.
"Well...I had an abusive childhood." I blurt out.
She whips her head to me, taking in a lot of air. "W-what? Ollie."
"Yeah, my dad was an alcoholic and everyday he would come home and hit us and my Mam. He would pick on Shannon the most and Joey always tried to stop it, resulting in him getting hurt so much worse. My brother then fell into a bad lifestyle to cope with everything and that's when my father had enough and tried to kill us all in a fire."
I spot a tear running down Ami's cheek.
"He only managed to take Mam with him as Johnny helped Shannon and my brother's escape. That's when Edel and John adopted us or we would have gone to an orphanage. So that scar was a result of one of my dad's whiskey tantrums."
Ami scrunches up her face as she silently cried, taking everything in. "Oh, Ollie." Was all she managed to say after catching her breath.
"You don't have to say anything, I'm all over it now." I sigh, comforting my girlfriend. "Trust me, I am. Since you came into my life, that was all I could focus on."
"Oh, Ollie." She repeats, kissing my forehead. "Thank you for trusting me to share this with."

"And who's this?" I hear someone say as I blink rapidly and pull my arm up to shield my face from the sun.
"More like who's you?" I laugh as I look at the nurse standing by the curtains.
"You're a cheeky one, aren't you?"
"If you think I am cheeky, you should hear my brother Tadhg." I shake my head grinning. The nurse switches her gaze and I follow it to see Ami still sleeping in my arms.
"This is Ami." I say as I stroke her hair.
"Your?"
"My beautiful girlfriend." I fill in for the nurse.
"Ah. Young love." She smiles at me. "She is very peaceful when she sleeps."
"That's what I think." I move a strand of hair off Ami's face.
"Well," She checks her paper. "Ollie Lynch, we need to record your check ups."
"Does she have to move?" I look down at the angel in my arms.
"Not at all." The nurse winks at me.
