I knew something wasn't right. Noah's mood changed as soon as Janelle arrived. I'm assuming they had some type of relationship together.

He changed his clothes while I sat on the bed in his t-shirt.

"Are you okay?"

Noah took off his watch. "Yeah, why?"

"Something is bothering you."

"Is it?"

My eyes distracted me with Noah's muscular body and tattoos. If that wasn't already bad enough, I could see his big print in his pajama bottoms.

"You good?"

My eyes went back up to his face. "Ye-Yeah."

"You sure?"

I knew he could sense my arousal. Now I'm embarrassed...again.

"Yes!"

He smiled. "Okay."

Noah got in the bed, then changed the channel on the TV. My thoughts wouldn't allow me to forget my suspicions about one of the guests.

"Babe, if you slept with Janelle before, it's not a big deal."

He looked at me, surprised. "What?"

"I know something happened between you two."

Noah sat up and turned off the TV. He held my hand, waiting for me to finish our conversation.

"I'm not expecting you to be some sexual saint. Everyone knows or assumes that Alphas are major whores."

His eyes met mine. "The fuck?"

I giggled. "It's true, babe."

"Not for me."

By the look on my face, he knew I wasn't convinced.

"Listen, I've slept with a few women. But I'm not a whore. I can count the women I've been with on one hand."

"Really?"

"Okay...One hand and a few fingers. My body count is still in the single digits."

I couldn't hold back my snickering.

"Wow, Nova....that's how you feel?"

"No." My snickering continued.

"You don't believe me."

"I'm sorry, babe. I believe you, I'm just teasing."

He chuckled. "That's fucked up."

"So, Janelle must be number nine."

"Wrong. We never had sex. I received fellatio."

BANG!

I jumped with a yelp at the sudden sound. Noah didn't flinch but got up to check our balcony. He opened the entrance and didn't find anything.

He closed the balcony door, latching the lock.

"Baby, stay here and lock this door."

I got up, not wanting him to go. "What's wrong?"

"Stay here."

Noah kissed my forehead then walked out. I was too nervous to sit back down, so I slowly paced the bedroom floor.

Nova...

I heard a tiny voice speak my name loud and clear, causing my heart to race. My eyes looked around the dimly lit room. The candle's light reflected off the glass balcony door.
