After the chaos at the beach house, pack authorities came to assess the scene, take evidence, and ask questions.
Noah made the decision to cut our weekend getaway short. He said it was too dangerous for me and Lily to be there. Akim definitely agreed.
I packed our things back up, then Noah loaded up the camaro. Before we left, he answered more questions.
“Great job on keeping one of them alive for interrogation. I’m sure that was hard to do.”
“Yeah, a little. Is he being tight-lipped?”
“Yup, like rogues always do. But we’re not giving up yet.”
“Good. Maybe give him an incentive…make it worth his while.”
“We can try that, and if that doesn’t work?”
“I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
The officer chuckled while Noah smirked.
“Do you know what region they could be from?”
“No, but I believe this is connected to the rogue I killed at the college a while ago.”
I sat in the car, listening to their conversation. I’ve never seen Noah kill anyone before, but from the horrific bloody scene yesterday, I’m happy I missed it.
Lily and I exchanged numbers. She told me what Akim did to the rogues on the beach, and I pity anyone who tries to go up against the Alpha and Beta of this pack.
“Okay, thanks, Alpha. Have a safe drive back home.”
Pack authorities went back into the beach house, then Noah got into the car, and we pulled off.
It’s a shame we have to leave so soon because of the rogues. But I appreciate him putting our safety over a good time. Honestly, I would not have been able to enjoy myself after what happened last night.
I already talked to my dad but didn’t go into detail about anything. Noah was on speaker phone with his dad, but I didn’t understand what they were saying.
“Les avez-vous tous tués ?” (Did you kill all of them?)
“Tous sauf un.” (All but one)
“Oh, interrogation.”
“Yup.”
“Smart my son.”
I leaned my seat back, then slowly began to drift off.
My eyes opened from feeling like I was floating. There was green grass and purple trees all around me. Soft nest of pretty pink and purple flowers cushioned underneath me.
There she is!
The same tiny voices and sparkles flew all around me. It was the pixie fairies again.
“Hi there, little ones.”
Hello, good witch. Did you enjoy your power last night?
“Yes, but it wasn’t a spell.”
Spells are for low-level witches. Your power is in your DNA/genetic makeup. It was passed down through your bloodline.
“Oh, I guess that makes sense. My mother is a witch.”
They all giggled.
We know…she sent us.
Bzzz…Bzzz.
My phone woke me out of my sleep, and I pushed my seat forward when I noticed we were already pulling into the Bowman estate.
“You alright, baby?”
“Yeah. I can’t believe I slept the whole ride.”
“You needed it.”
I checked the text, and it was an unknown number with an attachment.
Once opened, I was instantly annoyed.
Times up, bestie 😄
From my understanding, Chanel and Knox messed around for a few months. I understand that during that time, she could develop feelings for him.
She’s also a full blooded werewolf, so her pregnancy would only be about 3 months.
“Seriously.”
“Who is it?” Noah asked, parking in front of his house.
It was a picture of Chanel laying in the hospital bed. She was about to give birth and had a big smile on her face.
That girl is really determined to harass me.

“Did you send the picture?” I asked, holding my newborn son.
Breana rolled her eyes. “Yes, Chanel…sheesh.”
“Did you check for a response?”
“You know damn well that girl isn’t gonna respond.”
She had a point, but I wasn't going to let her enjoy her relationship with Knox. I plan on being a pain in her ass until she gives up and leaves him.
“You really are obsessed with him.”
I looked at Breana. “Bitch, at least I’m not weak in the knees for a dusty Gamma.”
“Girl, please. Knox isn’t checking for you. Nova’s probably pregnant with his real baby as we speak.”
“Excuse me?”
“You thought I didn’t know that wasn’t the Alpha’s baby?”
I keep forgetting that Breana is nosey as fuck and pays attention to everything. I knew my kid wasn’t Knox’s but it was still fun making Nova stress out.
“Whatever.”
"Yeah, that's what I thought."
Breana's such a smart-ass, but that's why I like her. I decided to tell her my good news and next plan of action.
“Guess what?”
“What?”
“I got accepted into The Rose Witch Coven.”
Breana got excited. “Girl, stop playing! I thought that stuff creeped you out.”
“I had a change of heart.”
“Do ya thing, Nel.”
She gave me a high-five, and I smiled. Nova ain’t seen the last of me. This is gonna be fun.
“So, are you going to reach out to your son’s real daddy?”
I rolled my eyes. “Girl, fuck him.”
“Fuck who?”
I looked to see Tyree standing in the doorway and I was instantly pissed.
“What the hell are you doing here?”
“The fuck do you think…to see my son.”
