The woman who accompanied the Sheriff walked into the Bowman's home. She was tall, pale with jet black hair.

A dark aura seemed to move around her and made the hairs stand on my arms. Her eyes focus on me.

"You there, what is your name?"

"Nova."

She got closer to me and slowly circled where I stood. Her perfume smelled of soft citrus, and her eyes were deep blue. I could feel her standing close when she got behind me.

"You are a witch?"

"Not yet."

"Why?"

"I'm still attending school."

The woman stood in front of me with a smirk on her face. She stared at my lips then her gaze went back to my eyes.

"You don't need school for what's running through your veins, young one."

My eyes widened, hearing something similar from the little fairies. Noah stood next to me and held my hand. I'm sure he could hear the increase of my heartbeat.

"My name is Izdra. You have a powerful girlfriend, Alpha."

"Fiance and I know."

I squeezed Noah's hand after his response. My worry was finding where my mother went but also not leading this woman to her.

"Do you detect anything, Izdra?"

"No, she seemed to have fled and must've sensed we were arriving. This witch is clever."

I smiled on the inside.

"Well, I guess that's it for tonight. We'll get out of your hair, Mr. and Mrs. Bowman. I apologize for the interruption."

"No worries."

"Izdra, we'll check the border on the south side of the river."

She gave the sheriff a nod as he gestured for her to walk ahead of him. I could see the relief on everyone's face, but I still felt uneasy.

"Wait.."

Izdra abruptly stopped, almost causing the sheriff to run into the back of her. She slowly turned around with her eyes on me once again.

"You have a similar aura as the one we followed to this location. You must be related to the exiled witch."

"What?" The sheriff looked confused.

"I think you should bring Nova in for questioning."

Noah instantly spoke up. "For what?"

"She knows the witch we're looking for."

My calmness was slowly being taken over by anger. Them coming for my mother was building a fight in me that I no longer could hold back.

"Who told you the witch was in town?" I asked.

"Does it matter?" Izdra asked as her eyes showed a red glow.

"Yes, if the person has a mental problem or a grudge to hold." A purple light showed from my eyes.

Izdra smirked, and I kept my calm even though my energy stirred within me. I was prepared to fight either of them, and I had not an ounce of fear.

"Who is the witch to you?"

"My wonderful and beautiful mother."

Noah snatched the paper from the sheriff's shirt pocket, but he didn't move.

"Oh shit...Ms. Myra snitched."

"Who?" Mr. and Mrs. Bowman said in unison.

"My dad's fiance."

After I talked to Ms. Niya, she offered to take me to my appointment at the Female Care Center. She told me that because the clinic serviced different species of females, it made more sense to keep the current name.

The drive to the southern pack community was two hours. With Akim blocked and me focused on getting to my destination, I felt like I was truly taking control over my life.

Once I pulled up to the gate, my heart beat relaxed. It's as if I was meant to be here.

"Please state your identity."

"H-Hi, I'm Lily Rogers. I'm here to see Ms. Niya Woodson."

A few seconds went by, and the gate began to open. I pulled inside and followed the directions the guard gave me.

Ahead was a huge beautiful house.

Before I could park, Ms. Niya came outside and stood on the porch. I was so happy to see her and was thankful that she was in my corner.

I got out of the car as she walked toward me.

"Was the drive okay?"

My words wouldn't come out. My heart was so overwhelmed at everything that's happened these past few days, and it was catching up to me.

"Oh, sweetheart. Come here."

If you kill my baby, Lily...it's over between us.

Ms. Niya opened her arms to me, and I sank into them. Akim's words continued to repeat in my thoughts, haunting every breath I took. My sobs got louder.

"It's okay. Did you pack a bag?"

"Ye-Yes, ma'am." I spoke between sniffles.

She went to the trunk of my car to retrieve it. Although I declared the rejection of Akim, I still felt connected to his energy...then I remembered.

My hand touched my stomach, and I immediately felt nauseous.

"It's the baby. I have to throw up again."

I couldn't wait to go inside and instead let loose in the grass. My legs felt weak, I felt like I was going to faint.

Thank goodness, Ms. Niya's husband was already pulling up to their home. He picked me up and took me inside.

I passed out before he followed his wife up the stairs. But I finally felt safe and looked forward to starting my life over.
