Unexpected

INTENTION

I was surprised to see Monty at the door.

"What are you doing here?"

"I brought you the make-up homework for three classes. Can't have you failing so close to the end of the semester."

He's brought me to Akim's before when Nova, him, and myself all came from a party. So him knowing the address wasn't a surprise.

"I figured you'd be here since the whole situation at the Mexican restaurant."

He gave me a red folder filled with papers.

"Aww, you're so awesome. Thanks, friend."

He came inside to explain the basics of each assignment. One of them was harder than I thought.

"I can help you if you want."

"Please...because this looks very detailed, almost like their trick questions."

"Yeah, that's Mr. Claviot for you."

I laughed cause his words were true, then got my book bag. Once I pulled out my textbook, Monty helped me go over the questions.

After ten minutes, Akim came home. I instantly got excited.

"Hey honey."

I got up and kissed his cheek but could immediately feel that something was wrong.

"Akimitsu, how are you?" Monty spoke.

He ignored him. "Lily, we need to talk."

"Oh okay."

I've never seen him look this upset.

"Well, thanks for bringing the homework, Monty. I really appreciate it."

"No problem. Make sure to cover pages 46-48. We have a test next week."

"Ugh, another test? He must hate us."

"NOW, LILY!"

I jumped at Akim's voice and hurried Monty out of the living room to the door. He looked like he was hesitant to leave after that.

"Are you going to be okay?"

"Oh yeah..."

Akim rushed towards us, pushing Monty out, then slamming the door in his face. I was absolutely shaken.

"What the hell was he doing here?"

"You didn't hear me? He brought me the homework assignments."

"I know that part...Why was he in my home?"

"He-He was helping with some of the questions..."

"Do you two always hang out?"

"No..mostly Nova's with us."

"I don't like him."

"Baby, I wasn't trying to upset you."

"That cocky bastard talked shit about me in front of you, and you're still chummy with him?"

My eyes widened.

"Oh, I didn't remember... I forgot about..."

Monty's words that night replayed in my head. Now, I was feeling horrible.

"Akim, I'm sorry."

"I don't want you hanging with him, Lily."

"What?"

"You heard me...don't hang with him anymore."

"Okay."

Akim walked away and went into the bedroom. The door slammed, causing me to jump again, and my heart began to break.
