It’s been a month since everything happened with Akim and myself. I was told that he’s physically already at 100%.
I’ve also been getting better, and I’m just now feeling back to my old self again.
Knowing that Akim almost died shook something inside of me. Although I was removing myself from our relationship, I still didn’t want anything bad to happen to him.
“Hey Lily, you want pepperoni or sausage?” Nova asked.
“I’ll take whatever.”
She walked out, and I laid back on my pillow. So much has happened in a month. I’ve been staying at the Bowman mansion and began attending my college classes again.
My mother found out about my pregnancy and abortion, then spazzed out for not telling her. After lecturing me about how stupid and careless I was for getting knocked up in the first place, I refused to go home with her.
“You need to come home where you’ll be safe.”
“I’m safe where I am.”
Thankfully, Mrs. Niya let me stay with her for a while.
Nova and I’s parents postponed their wedding multiple times because we refused to attend. My mom really disappointed me, and I can’t believe she did that to Ms. Laticha.
Besides that, I’ve been getting text messages from an unknown number. It was Akimitsu.
Hello, Lily. I hope you’re feeling and doing well. Have a wonderful day.
I’ve been getting texts from him every other day this whole month. I could block this number, too, but I wasn’t ready yet.
Nova came back with our box of pizza. We ate and talked about going back to our dorms at the Rose Witch Coven. I was actually excited about it.
“Have you spoken to your mom?”
“Nope…your dad?”
“No, I honestly don’t think our relationship will ever be the same again.”
“Yeah, it sucks.”
Noah knocked on the door.
“Come in, babe.” Nova smiled.
“You two good? We got some wings downstairs.”
“Yeah, I’m good.”
Noah stared at my bestie, and I knew what that meant.
“Um, Nova…I’m getting sleepy. I’m gonna turn in early.”
“Oh, okay.”
She got up while Noah mouthed the words 'thank you'. I smiled as they walked out, closing the door behind them.
I sat my empty plate on the nightstand, then turned off the light. Once I was snuggled under the covers, my phone buzzed.
Lily, are you awake?
I haven’t responded to any of Akim’s messages. Not responding kept me from saying anything crazy. I wasn’t as mad as I used to be, but I still wasn’t ready to talk to him.
I’m sorry for everything. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I should’ve been more supportive, and I regret not being there for you, Lily.
His words were nice, but I still wasn’t ready to answer.
You rejected me, and I understand why. I told you it would be over between us, which I didn’t mean at all. I let my emotions get the best of me, and I’m sorry.
