Unexpected

DARKNESS

I felt like crap for how I behaved towards Lily, but I don't take back what I said about that creep Monty.

We sat at my place and talked everything out. I expressed how I felt, and she did the same.

"I apologize for how I talked to you, Lily. It was unacceptable, and I promise that will never happen again."

"You felt like I was naive about Monty, and you were frustrated. I understand."

"Still, Petals... there's no excuse for that behavior, and I'm so sorry."

"I forgive you, babe."

It was a great conversation that allowed us to see each other's perspective, and I'm thankful that I have such an amazing mate.

It's been a few days, and tonight, Knox and I decided to take the girls to a popular nightclub in the city. It was a 21 and older place, but since they were with us, there were no issues with them entering.

Lily looked so beautiful in her red, thin strap dress and stiletto heels. She was self-conscious about wearing her eyeglasses, but I reassured her she was perfect either way.

"Thanks, honey." She blushed with her ruby red lipstick on.

Once we were inside, we got a nice amount of stares. We know that werewolves from other packs come here, and jealousy is usually joining them.

We sat in our usual section on the platform. It's a nice view of the entire club.

"Baby, what do you wanna drink?"

Knox asked his girl, and both couldn't seem to keep their eyes off each other. The heat spell was officially over, so it had to be something else.

"A mocktail."

"What about you, babe?" I asked Lily.

"I'll have the same."

We ordered drinks and appetizers, then talked amongst each other. The club was packed but not at an annoying capacity. Even if it was, it wouldn't affect us being in VIP.

"Fellas, don't forget our parent's wedding is next week."

It was cool that Lily and Nova were about to officially be sisters. The excitement on their faces was sweet.

Once our drinks and food came, the laughs and jokes began. The girls stood up to dance to their favorite songs while Knox and I smiled, enjoying the show.

"Mind if we join y'all."

Darnell stood in the entrance with a girl we didn't know... so much for Fatima. We got up to greet him while the girls made his date feel welcomed.

The night went on, and Knox danced with Nova on the main floor while Lily snuggled up to me, singing the words to the song.

Soon, I noticed Darnell staring at Lily as his date kissed on his neck. The fact that he didn't hide it and didn't even care that I was sitting right here pissed me off.

"Ay! What the fuck are you looking at?"

Darnell snapped out of his stare then looked at me. Lily immediately stopped singing.

"Nothing, bro...I'm chillin'."

"Get yourself together...now."

I was ready to kick him out of our section but I noticed someone out in the crowd glaring at Knox and Nova. The more I watched, two more guys joined.

Before I can get up, the lights go out and screams take over the club. Lily hangs onto me as my night vision takes over.

"Bro, do you think it's a robbery?!" Darnell shouts over the panic.
