Accidental Roommates (Inspired by Red, White & Royal Blue)

First Meeting (Henry's POV)

Henry’s POV

 “Hey,” There’s someone who suddenly called me when I was about to open the door of my room. “Who are you?” He asked me.

Even though I was a bit confused by his question and from the tone of his voice when he asked me, I still smiled at him, trying to be friendly.

  “Oh. Hi!” I greeted him. “I am Henry.“ I introduced myself to him and even offered my right hand.

But he didn’t even bother to accept my attempt to shake his hand, so I just took my hand back and put it in my pocket.

  “I’m sorry, but I’m not asking for your name.” Was what he said that made me feel a little bit embarrassed. “What I really wanna know is.. why are you here in front of my room?” And he sound so pissed.

  While I’m suddenly got confused by his question. “But it’s.. i-it’s my room.” I told him.

  “What are you talking about?” He asked, he looked surprised. “But that room is mine.” He firmly added.

  And I got more confused, so I said, “Wait.” I immediately grabbed my phone. “I received this email and it says here that my dorm room number is 118.” I even showed it to him to prove him that I’m not lying.

  I saw him quickly grabbing something from his pocket, and it turns out that it’s his phone too. “I have the same email and it also says here that my room number is 118.” He also showed it to me.

I read the email on his phone and I found out that we have the exact same email and it’s making me even more confused.

  “Hello, Newbies!” Someone suddenly approached us. “I’m the dorm leader here and I want to —” He suddenly stopped from talking, then he stared to both of us with wondering look. “What’s going on here? I can.. feel the tension in the air.” Then he let out an awkward laugh.

  “Nothing, really.” The boy who received the same email as mine said. “I just.. I just thought that each of the rooms here is for one person only.” He added. “But why it seems like.. we’re gonna stay in the same room?”

  “That’s true.” I quickly said. “We have the same room number.” I told the dorm leader while hoping that he could help us resolve this problem immediately.

    “Oh. There must’ve been just a little bit of confusion that’s happened.” The dorm leader said like it’s just a normal thing. “It really happens here once in a while.” He even added while laughing.

I just laughed with him even though I don’t understand if what is he laughing about.

  “But I’ll report this to the school admin right away and just wait for a representative to talk to both of you about this matter.” The dorm leader added. “I’ll leave the two of you for now.” Then he immediately left.
