Accidental Roommates (Inspired by Red, White & Royal Blue)

OWE (Alex's POV)

Alex’s POV

  “Alex!” Henry called me a bit louder right after he entered our room.

  I turned to him wondering. “What? Is something wrong?” I asked him.

  “I got a warning because of the trouble that’s happened at the fair!” He said, sounds he’s complaining.

  “I got one, too.” I told him calmly.

  “But it’s.. it’s so unfair! Why did they have to give me a warning too?” He rants. “I didn’t do anything!”

  “Yeah.” I said while nodding. “But we’re together.”

  He paused for a moment, then, “T-together?” He asked me, he looked so surprised.

  I smiled. “Yes.. we’re together.” I told him while nodding. “You were there when the trouble happened, right?”

  “Yeah!” He’s back to being annoyed again. “But I didn’t punch anybody. I was just standing there. I even dropped my ice cream, for Christ’s sake!” He threw his bag on the bed.

  I laughed at his last sentence. “Alright, alright! I owe you one.” I said, giving up the argument, trying to calm him down. “And I owe you an ice cream too, even if I knew that you didn’t spend a single penny on it.” Because the ice cream seller gave the ice cream to him for free.

And then.. I saw him smiled suddenly, then he sat on the bed.

  “Cute!” I whispered then I stood up from the chair and grabbed my wallet. “I’m just gonna go out for a while. I need to buy some school supplies and.. I’m gonna buy you an ice cream too. What flavor do you like?” I asked him.

  “Cookies and cream.” Henry’s quick answer.

  “Okay.” I’m waiting for him to look at me before I leave, but he’s too busy on his laptop. So I didn’t bother to wait anymore, I came closer to him and gently pinched his cheek and it seems so effective because he quickly looked up at me. I smiled at him and said, “I’ll be right back.”
