Accidental Roommates (Inspired by Red, White & Royal Blue)

CRASHED (Henry's POV)

Henry’s POV

  I spent my vacant time having snacks with Alexis while I’m waiting for my next afternoon class.

I was thinking to use this chance to ask her about something that’s been bothering me these past few days already.

  “How..” I paused and cleared my throat first. “How would you know if.. you’re liking someone?” I curiously asked Alexis.

  “Hm..” She thinks first. “When I’m.. always think of him? When I’m always excited to see him. When I’m always happy everytime I’m with him. And.. when I get jealous everytime I saw him with someone else.” She smiles then asked me, “Why? Are you liking someone now?”

  I shook my head. “No, it’s just, uhm..” I tried hard to think of words to deny even though I can totally relate to everything that she just said. “It’s just a.. hypothetical question.”

She didn’t give a comment, she just chuckles, then sipped on her milktea.

  “Just another hypothetical question,” I paused a bit because I’m kinda nervous to ask this. “Let’s just say.. you feel like you’re liking someone that..” But I can’t get to finish the question.

  Alexis stared at me and suddenly asked, “With someone of the same gender? Is that what you mean?” She’s staring at me like she’s reading me.

  I swallowed hard, then I shyly nod at her. “W-what.. it makes you?” I asked her seriously and curiously.

  “A human being!” Her answer then she laughed. “What else?”

  “I’m serious.” I told her, I’m a bit annoyed, but I laughed, too.

  “And I’m serious, too!” She said while still laughing. “But anyway.. I don’t have the right to tell you if what or who you really are. Only you who could tell that. And you’re suppose to know that to yourself. It’s important for you to be able to know it yourself.” She said seriously. “As for me, the only thing I am sure of is.. love is love.” Then she chuckled again.

  I scoffed at that. “Love?” I repeated while laughing.

  “Yeah, why?” She asked with a big smile. “Sounds a little cringe, but.. it is what it is!”

  “But..” I took a deep breath first. “We’ve only known each other for about.. five months?” I burst out what’s really on my mind, I wasn’t able to filter it first.

  She chuckled quietly then said, “I knew it!” She’s yelping quietly.

  “— What?” I was puzzled by her reactions.

  “And so?” Then she exclaimed. “Do you still remember my brother? He was able to tell that it’s love from the very first time he saw you.” She laughed so hard then, “The point is.. what more in the almost five months you spent with your roomie, right? You see him everyday and every night before you go to sleep, so.. it’s not so surprising anymore.”

I was shocked at that, I was completely speechless, I didn’t expect that she knew.

  “Come on, Your Royal Highness. Don’t waste any time.” She then told me. “Time is precious. You need to do something before it’s too late. Especially, you two will separate ways after the school year, remember? He will go back to where he came from and so are you.”

I suddenly realized that she’s right.

She’s absolutely right.

  I ran going back to the dorm right after my last class for the day was finished.

And while walking towards our room, I was hoping that Alex is there already because..

  I miss him and I badly want to see him.

And when I opened the door of our room.. yes, Alex is there, but..

I saw him busy packing his things and I suddenly felt like my world is crashing on me.

  “W-what are you doing?” I asked him, I’m just trying hard not to cry even though the truth is, I feel like I want to breakdown right now.

  He looked at me. “I am..” He sighed deeply and then, “I’m moving out.”

I felt like he just dropped a bomb on me, he crashed me and killed me.

I dropped my bag on the floor and then I turned to the door again.

  “Wait!” Alex said before I could totally get out of the room. “Where are you going?” He asked me.

  “To the moon.” My answer then I slammed the door closed.

I walked away from our room while crying.

Our neighbors saw me crying while walking away, but I don’t care anymore.

I’m badly hurt and I think, they would understand me if they were in my shoes.

I actually don’t know where else to go, all I know is I want to be away from here for a while to think.

And when I was about to go out of the dorm, Marco suddenly saw me.

Looked like he’s about to go out, too.

  “Hey! What’s up?” He asked me. “Is everything fine?”
