You are sitting in the car with the son of the suspect, Lucas. "Hey kid, how are you doing?" You ask him while trying to get a glimpse of his face.
His face is red and puffy. "Hey, look at me. I've been in your shoes. My experience didn't end as well as yours." He looks at you. "How do I do it alone? My mom's gone and so is my dad."
"You take time, you ask for help and you slowly heal from what your father did. It'll be hard, but you'll make it through. Like I did." You tell the kid, watching him listen was eye opening. You give him a hug and then head out of the car.
JJ comes over to you, "Hey, you ok? That was rough." I nod and quietly say, "I will be, Future Ms. Y/L/N." She smiles and jumps into your arms. Smiling and giggling. "Come on, let's go home." She says as you let her down. While the team walks over to the cars you shout, "Dinner, our house tonight. Everyone needs to be there." The team looks confused but they all nod one after the other.
The team flies back to Quantico and goes their seperate way to get ready for tonight. JJ and you drive home and you both get dressed. Something fancy, but simple and casual at the same time. "Hey babe, I'm headed out. I'll be back in 30 minutes." You hop into Big Red and drive to the local jeweller.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. I called in about a ring cleaning. I need it quick, I'm proposing in 30 minutes." The jeweller laughs but you have a serious look on your face and they grab the ring from you. Running to the cleaning machine and polisher. You wait for them to finish cleaning and then run back out to the car.
You reach the door and run in. "JJ! Come here." You hear her running upstairs and when you hear her at the top of the stairs, you kneel. "Jennifer Jareau, will you marry me again?" You are holding the ring when a tear drops from her face. "Again, yes!" You put it on her finger and she notices how beautiful the ring is.
"Gosh, babe, this is beautiful." She smiles and you say, "It was my mothers." A single tear falls from your face and you smile at your beautiful fiancé, "You deserve it, I love you JJ." She says I love you back and jumps into your arms again.
"Right, get ready. Everyone will be here in 10 minutes." You smile waiting for JJ to finish getting ready.
As the doorbell rings, you swing the door open with a big smile and say hello to Garcia and Emily at the door. "Gosh, you're happy." Emily says with a smile, and you smile back and guide them through the door.
You set up a table outside and heat up the barbecue, knowing full well that Rossi will probably take over. One by one, everyone arrived. You and JJ can't stop smiling at each other and everyone seems weirded out by it. While at the barbecue, Rossi joins you. "Hey kiddo." He smiles and bumps your shoulder. "Hey Ross."
He turns to you and asks, "How are you, after the case?" His face is smiling but you can tell he's worried. "I'll be ok, plus it's a good day other than the case."
You finish the food on the barbecue and bring it over to the team at the table. As you sit down and start serving everyone, you bump JJ. She dings her glass and smiles as she stands. You watch her the whole time.
"We have a small announcement, Y/N and I are....engaged!" She says, you turn to everyone at the table, all with their mouths wide open.
"Are you kidding?" Emily says as Garcia stands up and runs over to JJ to hug her. Rossi pats your back and Hotch looks over at you and smiles.
"I technically proposed on the jet today but we did it properly this afternoon before you all came." Everyone is still shocked and Emily reaches for JJ's ring.
"Your mother's. God it really is beautiful." She says while smiling at you. Knowing that giving your ring to JJ means you are very serious.
