Feeling A Little Off

After Chiron announced that we could eat, Elene ran off leaving me alone and confused. I didn’t know anybody except for her, Percy and Annabeth. I saw her glance at me from where she sat at her table next to Annabeth – I had to admit, I felt like she was replacing me! I thought we were supposed to stick together – that plan probably just went straight down the drain I think. I sighed and looked around while playing with a lock of my hair when I saw a tall blonde, tan, muscular, blue eyed boy walk up to me. He smiled kindly “Hey sis – I’m Cyrus, your new brother” I gave him a relieved look. “Hi” I said with a bright smile. His grin widened as he said “Come on – you’ll fit right in with our other brothers and sisters” I followed him to a long table filled with kids. I took the empty seat beside Cyrus. Soon, I had met a new sister who had golden blonde hair and green eyes – she smiled at me and said her name was Anemone. She was really sweet and I found that just like Cyrus had said – I fit right in. I felt a pair of eyes burning into the back of my head, I turned and saw Percy. He winked at me and continued to eat. I blushed and went back to my food, but I suddenly wasn’t very hungry – not because of Percy, I just really missed home; school, grandma, mom, Delly. Soon after we had all finished eating I walked with Cyrus and Anemone and my other siblings to our cabin. When I stepped inside, I was in awe. The cabin was lit with a golden glow; it was warm and smelled of burning wood even though there was no fire. Everywhere you looked there were weapons or instruments. Cyrus showed me to my bunk – which was in the corner of the room. Cyrus told me everything I needed to know and I got to unpacking. I unpacked all of my clothes and set them in the black leather trunk at the end of my bed. Anemone then told me where to put my toiletries in the bathroom – I had my own mirror and everything – that was new and I wasn’t used to having my own spaces, although I was used to having bunk beds and I didn’t mind that much. I put my toiletries in the bathroom and then walked back to my bunk and grabbed my back pack. I pulled my books out and set them under my bed except for The Perks of Being a Wallflower which I set on my nightstand and then I took out my iPod and placed it on my bed – knowing I would need it to fall asleep tonight more than ever. I took out the picture frame that had the picture of Delilah and me and set it on the night stand. One of my new siblings – I think her name was Lucy? Asked me who the little girl in the picture was. I told her it was my adopted sister from back home. I went into the bathroom and changed into a pair of old pajama shorts and a tank top. I walked back out and listened to my music until I fell asleep. The next morning I was woken up by a smiling Cyrus, he told me we had Greek lessons with the Athena cabin first and then we had Archery, and then we had Pegasus riding with the Aphrodite cabin and then Sword fighting with the Ares cabin. I smiled and went to change into a pair of jean short shorts and a purple tank top with a lacy sky blue tank over top of the purple one. I pulled on my combat boots that I wore on a regular basis and laced them up nice and tight. I grabbed my bow that Percy had given me yesterday along with the quiver of arrows. Cyrus was standing at the door waiting for me, he had explained last night to me about the beaded necklaces that everyone here wore – it showed how many years they had been at camp. He had eight. We walked to the pavilion where we had eaten last night and I saw Annabeth and Elene as well as Percy who had a gaggle of girls around him, although he did look very uncomfortable with it. We walked up the steps and I saw my other siblings who had already seated themselves. Percy saw me and smiled, taking long strides over to me and enveloping me in a hug. I hugged back “Hey Olly” He paused and pulled back to look at me “Is it okay if I call you that?” I laughed and nodded. I saw Elene look at me and smile and I started to wave her over but then saw Annabeth glare at me angrily, causing me to shrink back a little – Percy noticed this but didn’t say anything. Cyrus and Percy tried to bring me into the conversation but I was still a little off. I felt a tap at my shoulder and I turned to see Elene smiling brightly at me. “Hey” I said awkwardly causing her to frown “You okay?” I tugged my hair and nodded. She frowned. Chiron told everyone to sit and our lesson would begin. Soon, I found myself sitting with Annabeth, Elene, Percy, Cyrus and Anemone. Chiron walked around to check all of our work and he told me and Elene we were doing amazing for our first lesson! I felt a little bit more cheery after this bit of news. After the lesson finished, we all stood around for a bit while talking. I talked mostly with Elene and we told each other about our cabins. About 5 minutes later, Cyrus was dragging me to the Archery range. This got me really excited.
