"You look lost in thought" Theodore said with a chuckle.

After the holidays Mira and Theodore hadn't found the time to see each other until two weeks after they were back in school. At first Mira thought that they wouldn't talk again and she was alright with that, it was for the best after all. That's what everyone had said. But when he slipped her a note during potions , telling her to meet him at their favourite broom closet, she found herself unable to resist. So there they were, squeezed in a tiny room , cuddled up against some old brooms. Mira as much as she enjoyed his company couldn't help but think of Sirius' words. She couldn't deny it was the first times his words held reason. Why would Nott, member of one of the most superficial, pure-blooded families, want to go around with her. Or sneak around with her, for the matter.

"I'm some kind of rebellion aren't I?" she said after a few minutes of silence. Theodore who had been smoking his cigarette in peace , stopped mid puff to turn his head so he could look at her. He furrowed his eyebrows, to show his confusion. "Against your parents." she clarified.

'You think I need to go against my parents? And even if I did, would being around you be it?"

"Well let's look at the facts" Mira suggested standing straighter, so his hand would drop from her waist. She turned her whole body to look at him , making him do the same with a sigh. "At the ball this Christmas, your parents should have received an award for the performance they gave. Really top notch. Even behind those smiles I could smell the disapproval when they saw us dancing together. That's why you insisted on us leaving the party, you knew that would rile them up even more" Mira reminded the events from about three weeks ago. "Because let's face it Theo. I'm a Potter. In your cycle's eyes, a 'blood-traitor', right?" Theo looked concentrated at her words , not for long though. He started laughing . LAUGHING. Mira didn't know if she should have been offended or surprised. She just looked at him in shock. Maybe he had an explanation for his reaction, she sure would be demanding one.
"Firstly" he started , his laughter dying down. "My cycle is your cycle. We've got the same friends , remember? And for some reason we don't see you a blood traitor, neither do our families, despite your name. That's why you were invited to the ball in the first place, because you too are one of us." That had stuck Mira hard. She had never thought of it this way before. Sure they were friends, but Theo saying she was one of them felt bizarre. Was she really viewed as one of them? Was that a good thing?

"As for my parents. Yes, they're not you biggest fans. So when I asked you to go somewhere more private was to piss them off, but not for my own benefit. I did it because I didn't like the looks they gave you. I did for you, so you would have a good time." he explained, leaving Mira speechless once more. It was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done or said to her and it came from none other than Theodore Nott, someone who ,as Mira knew, would become a horrible person, towards his son later on and to everyone around him. A death eater and a proud one at that. But at that moment she didn't see that version of him. She didn't even see the mean teenager that everyone, other than his own house, avoided in the halls. She saw a boy who had just tried to make her feel a little better. A boy, who despite what everyone said, made her feel good.

"Not a rebellion then?" she asked with and innocent smile on her face

"You, darling" he said lifting her chin up to look at him "are my most beautiful sin" he said before pecking her lips lightly. Mira was glad the room wasn't fully lit , because she was certain the colour on her face would much a tomato.

"Oh ,shut up Nott"

"Make me Potter"

"I just might"

....

Lily was patrolling the Halls like she did every night. James had felt terrible for leaving her alone that night, but Lily reminded him that she was perfectly capable of walking on her own. Being Head Girl was something she was really good at. She was after all, the least rule breaking person to ever exist. So when she had to act, she did, in any way she could. Getting points off of students didn't really excited her but it was what she had to do. So when she heard quite laughing from down the corridor she followed the noise to discipline whoever was out of bed that late at night. What she didn't expect to find was Mira and Nott , trying to go back to their common room and failing.

"Mira!" Lily whispered-yelled, not knowing what else to do.

"Oh, hey Lily"she waved awkwardly.

"What are you doing up at this time?"
"Walk?"

Lily looked between her and Nott, she let out a frustrated sigh, trying to think of way to handle the situation.

"Nott, you better be gone in five seconds, back into your common room. Mira you're coming with me"Lily ordered, visibly angry.

"Wow, no points off of Slytherin? You're slipping Evans"

"NOTT!"

"Don't test you luck" Mira whispered to him and he nodded with a smile.

"Well goodnight Mira, Evans" And with that the two girls were left alone in a quite corridor.

"I thought you were done with him"Lily had heard the conversatio between Mira and Sirius that day in the kitchen. Later on when she asked about it , the younger girl had said she was done with the whole situation ,leaving no room for any more questions.

"Well...I'm not"

"Mira-"

"He's not that bad Lils and he...Look, I've told you all this before. Being around him makes me feel...nice" Mira confessed making Lily's expression soften.

"Okay" she simply replied, not wanting to make her friend feel bad. "Just one question" Mira nodded "Why are you sneaking around?Almost everyone knows"

"For the thrill?" Mira just shrugged. In reality she didn't know. They weren't really hiding anything, they just didn't like everyone to watch. So they sat at opposite sides of the dining table with their friends but enjoyed each other's company when no on was around. It had been like that since the start, and with no desire for a relationship from any of them , they felt that it was the right move.
