October 18th 2023"I can get it off?" Ja'rod asked Rebecca.
"Yes I'm know it seems quick but you were not playing about getting you hand movement back" she smiled.
"It's been a whole month today, since you've been shot—I'm going to miss you being one of my clients" she continued.
"Damn it's been a whole month? Shit crazy man" Ja'rod chuckled before taking the sling off of his left arm.
"Make a fist for me" Rebecca said. Ja'rod formed a fist in his left hand making a smile come on his face.
"Any pain?"
"Nah, shit feel normal again"
"Raise your hand" she instructed causing ja'rod to his arm above his head.
"Any pain?"
"Nah"
"Alright well that concludes our time together because you've completed your physical therapy" Rebecca smiled.
"I need ta' sign anything?"
"Nope everything is covered"
"Igh—I can do everything I did before getting shot?" Ja'rod asked.
"I don't see why not"
"Aight aye thank you fa' helping me out wit' this shit"
"It's my job"
Ja'rod walked out of the office before speeding through traffic to his mother's house.
He wanted to call Destiny but she was at school right now, observing a ten hour surgery and taking notes on it, so he didn't want to interrupt her. It didn't take him long before he parked his car.
"Momma!" Ja'rod yelled banging on the door.
"Why the hell you banging on my door like that boy!" Monica yelled as soon as she opened the door.
Ja'rod pulled his mother into a hug, casually waiting for her to notice that his arm is back.
"What happened?"
"Why you gotta think something happened?" He pulled away.
"Because you're hugging me like—"Monica cut herself off with a gasp, "oh my goodness you got your arm back"
Ja'rod chuckled, "yea"
"When did you get the okay?"
"This mornin', I came straight here after the appointment"
"You staying?"
"Nah I gotta handle sum' business and then get Kaiser and shit" he explained, "but Ima come by Tuesday since it's yo' son birthday"
"My baby is turning twenty-six"
"He would've"
"Yea" Monica started to tear up, "I miss him, I miss having my boys together"
"I know momma" he pulled her into a hug, "don't cry"
"I'm not" she sniffed and pulled away, "now go before I actually start crying"
"You sure? I can stay"
"Yes boy I'm sure" Monica chuckled, "go on handle your business and go on with your life"
"Aight" He kissed his mother's forehead before getting in his car.
