3:51 am on the world's blurriest night

deathly silence falls at 10
creak goes the chair
flatlined to-do list in the air
keys to click, i don't dare
flashing on the screen
the bitcrushed voice on the other side
it asks me so politely
"can you help? Please?"
and my wire sparks
the sounds i so despise going through
(is it so obvious?)
agreeing to prolong being elsewhere
rip the bandaid
pull the teeth
loss of blood
feeling weak
what is it
that you seek?
fan spinning
head spinning
take it slow
is there treachery in dreaming?
the inseam stretches
much too big
ding goes the phone
skyy, forgiving as you are
much more than i can hope to be
smart, sensible
read like a disc, write like a poet
get bored of being you
wouldn't mind trying something new
living here
and now
and not worried about those that critique
now that i have all attention
patience is what you need
and to be satisfied with a cromulent defense
is all you can and should hope for.
exploit life and make it regret exploiting you
