Liam pov

The doctor's words hit me like a punch to the gut.
"The test results are back, Liam,"
he said, his tone serious.

"It confirms our suspicions. You have a rare form of illness, and it's progressing."

I sat there, numb, trying to process what he was telling me. The room seemed to close in around us, the sterility of the hospital contrasting sharply with the chaos in my mind.

How could this be happening? How would I tell Maya? The thought of her face, once she knew, was unbearable.

"What are the next steps?" I managed to ask, my voice barely above a whisper.

The doctor continued, his voice professional yet tinged with empathy. He outlined treatment options, clinical trials, potential outcomes. But all I could think about was Maya, her laughter, her warmth, and the life we had planned together slipping further away with each passing moment.

Leaving the doctor's office, I felt the weight of the diagnosis like a physical burden. How long could I keep this hidden? How could I protect Maya from the pain that awaited us both? The uncertainty gnawed at me, a relentless reminder that our future was no longer ours to shape alone.

Thank you sweetie's
