Dr. Williams was in the middle of his rounds when the emergency call came through. "Code blue, room 314,". His heart sank; that was Liam's room, his friends room. He hurried down and his white coat billowing behind him.

Dr. Williams saw Liam lying motionless on the bed of emergency room, his skin an alarming shade of gray. "Damn it," he said. He glanced up at Maya, who stood paralyzed with her violin together the years that flowing into her eyes. "Miss, you need to step outside," he said " We need to work."

As Maya are now outside Dr. Williams snapped into action. "Get him on the gurney," he ordered. A team of nurses and another doctor rushed in, lifting Liam onto the bed. "Vitals?" he said

"He's in full arrest, no pulse," a nurse responded, already preparing the defibrillator. Dr. Williams quickly took Liam's wrist, confirming the news.

"Let's move! Start compressions," Dr. Williams ordered. Nurse Patel began chest compressions, her movements quick and precise. Each compression fill the room, a stark reminder of the desperate battle unfolding.

"Charging to 200," another nurse said, readying the defibrillator. The machine whirred to life, "Clear!" she shouted. Everyone stepped back, and Liam's body jolted as the shock was delivered.

"Still no pulse," Dr. Williams said, a bead of sweat are now in his forehead side of nervousness, fear, and sadness. He felt a frustration and determination wash over him. "Increase to 300, and prepare an epi shot."

The minutes pass by, each second marked by the beeping of monitors and the voices of medical team. They do another shock, then another, but Liam's heart refused to restart. Dr. Williams felt the weight of time pressing down on him, each moment that passed making the outcome seem more inevitable.

Thank you sweetie.
