Chpater 12. The Yule Ball.

The next two weeks Evelyn has been a bit stressed out because she had no idea who she was going to take to the ball, or even if she was going at all.

She wanted to go in order to support Cedric and Harry, but no one has asked her out yet.

She has heard that Cedric asked out Cho, a very pretty Revenclaw girl who was in the quidditch team. So she guessed that's were he knew her from. It still hurt though that she won't be able to go with him.

If he had asked, she would've said yes. But probably just because she doesn't want to be alone.

That's one of her biggest fears, she's noticed that she's afraid of being alone.

"What if you ask Harry?" Steph asked as they were in the backyard. Her mind immediately racing to the various possibilities if she did asked Harry.

She still wasn't sure what she felt towards him. And she was less sure if he felt something even similar of her.

"I don't think it's a good idea."

"Why not? You've been friends forever, maybe you could go as friends?" Luna asked, agreeing with Steph.

"Who are you both going with?" Evelyn decided to ask. It's weird because they've been so concerned about her, that she hasn't thought about them.

"Oh um-"

"We're going together." Luna said proudly, as she linked arms with Steph, taking Evelyn by surprise.

"Oh Merlin! I'm so happy for both of you!" She said as she went to hug them both. She truly was happy, although she could sense Steph a bit taken aback by Luna's statement.

"I thought we were going as friends..." she suddenly said, but Luna didn't care.

"Oh don't be silly! Of course we're not going as just friends Steph. I've already told you how I feel about you."

Evelyn saw Steph blush and looking away, but Luna pulled her chin to look at her. "I'm not ashamed of us. Are you?"

"Never." Steph said and Evelyn couldn't help but feel so proud. Although she has known them for such a short amount of time, she was happy for them.

They have been so incredibly supportive of her that she was happy they have found happiness. And she was kind of proud that it has been thanks to her. After all, they met helping her out on her breakup phase.

"I might ask Harry... let's see if I find the courage to do it."

"Oh you will, you have to! Then who would you take?"

"Maybe I could go alone?"

"No way! I will find you someone. Don't worry." Steph said as she put her arm around Evelyn's shoulder.

"And who do you have in mind?" Eve ask a bit concerned as she looked at Luna, her head obviously somewhere else. She has not been paying much attention anymore to the conversation.

"Let me surprise you." She said with a small smirk on her face making Eve internally groan.

Evelyn was casually eating dinner in the great hall when the owls started to fill the room. She received a package which took her by surprise.

Luna and Steph looked at her curiously. "Who's it from?"

She looked at the envelope and it said 'mom and dad'.

She opened it and it was a very beautiful red dress. "Oh my- you'll look beautiful! Now you really need a perfect date to go with it!" Steph said as she couldn't keep her eyes off of the dress. "Here, can I see it up close?"
