Since their kiss, Evelyn has been in constant anxiety and she didn't know why until today.
She has grown to care way too deeply for her friend, now not just a friend, she wasn't sure what they were yet since they didn't talk after their kiss a week ago. And this third task was making her stressed.
Now she was the one who hasn't slept. It felt as though she was having the same nightmares as Harry. But all she could think was that it was impossible. She can't possibly be having the same nightmare as Harry.
However, Harry seemed better, so she didn't mind having the nightmares if it meant that he wouldn't.
This just complicated things a bit more. It meant that whatever theory she had of the two of them being connected is true.
As they all gathered together to watch the third task, she could see Cedric with his dad. She decided to go and wish him luck since it's been a while since they've talked to each other.
Cedric saw her coming and before she could come any closer, he was already excusing himself from his father and going towards her, a smile, nervous but a smile nonetheless, on his face.
"Hey Eve."
"I came to wish you luck." She said and he smiled at her, instantly making him happy.
"Thank you." He noticed the bags under her eyes and his face instantly became one of worry. "Hey, have you been sleeping well lately?"
Damn, she should have wore makeup. "Yeah, it was just last night. Don't worry about it." She faked smile but he could see right through her. "Just worried about the task."
"Everything will be fine. We've been preparing for this right?" Cedric said as he tried his best to reassure her while also saying it to himself.
"Right." Cedric couldn't help it as he hugged her tightly, never wanting to let go. She felt it too and hugged him back just as tight.
"It's just this and then it's all over." She said after they separated and he nodded, feeling a bit better than before and that was all Evelyn was hoping for.
After that, Cedric went back to his dad and Evelyn went to Harry next. Dumbledore was beside him but it felt as though Harry was alone. Evelyn was hoping to change that too.
When Harry saw her coming he could feel himself blushing, feeling a bit stupid but couldn't help himself. After that kiss, he felt like all he wanted to do was snog her all the time so he had to restrain himself, which ended up not seeing her apart from right now.
"Hey." She said as she was now close enough. He couldn't deny his feelings anymore. He felt something incredibly powerful towards her and there was no stopping it.
"Hi..." Harry didn't think twice when he pulled her closer and kissed her. He was sure everyone could see them but he didn't care anymore.
Evelyn's cheeks couldn't be redder and her stomach couldn't possibly have more butterflies than this. This is how she wanted to feel her whole life.
She was in love with Harry Potter.
Once they pulled away they kept their forheads together, Harry breathing a bit deeply, matching Evelyn's heartbeat. "That was... something."
Harry could only smile at her as he felt stronger than ever before. "Can you feel this?" He asked her as he took her hands and put it on his chest. Evelyn indeed could feel his heartbeat very fast but strong. "This is how you make me feel."
She couldn't help but look down as her cheeks went red again. "Good luck." Was all she managed to say. Although something inside of her was screaming to not go in this stupid task. But couldn't bring herself to say it.
