To say that the first week of the semester has been hard, was an understatment. Once Evelyn started noticing how people were looking at her, she understood that Harry was not the only being a target and whenever they were together, people ran for their lives.

She wasn't even at the end of the tournament but now people had started to remember that part and many rumors have been spreading through Hogwarts. All of them included Harry and Evelyn.

Steph was trying to be a good friend and defended her against the Hufflepuffs who tried to say mean things to her and interrogate her, much more like Ron did with Harry.

Evelyn hasn't had time to talk to Harry but she has heard that he has gained his first detention with Umbridge.

When she was able to get a hold of Hermione with Ron at the library one evening, they told her that he was in detention. She was a bit shocked although she has heard the rumor of what happened in that class, but she wanted to not pay attention to them before talking to Harry first.

It was getting out of hand and she wished she could just slow things down. Have a normal life for one second, but other people didnt seem to care.

"Hey, Eve? Are you alright there?" Steph asked once they went out of the library. She was planning on talking to Harry as soon as he got off from professors Umbridge office.

"Yeah.. look Steph, thank you really for sticking up for me through everything, I just really need to talk to Harry when he gets out of detention, would that be fine for you if I see you tonight in our dormitory?"

"Yeah of course, dont worry." She said as she hugged Evelyn and they separated.

However, once she was walking by herself, she felt a stinging sensation on the top of her hand, as if something was cutting through. She stopped walking since she felt a bit dizzy because of the sudden pain and needed to stady herself.

She look down at her hand but there was nothing there. Although it kept hurting a lot.

Taking a deep breathe she tried to think what could be causing that pain but nothing came to mind. And it went on for many minutes, almost half an hour.

She managed to keep walking through the pain although it was driving her crazy and she thought about going to the hospital wing, but since she really couldnt see anything wrong with her hand, she decided to let it slide.

That was until Harry came out of professor Umbridge and looked very pale, his eyes a bit teary but it was obvious he was trying to hide it.

"Harry? Are you okay? What happened-" Before she finished her questions, she connected everything.

Oh that bitch.

"Let me see your hand." She commanded and Harry looked surprised but let her looked at it.

It was red and it left scars all over his hand. "Harry-"

"I-Its fine, really, Im fine-"

"Stop, I can see it in your eyes-" Once again she was interrupted by the door opening and of course it was Umbridge. She looked a bit surprised to see Harry still there but more surprised to see Evelyn too, looking at his hand.

She looked almost scared, almost.

"Is there anything I can help you with Miss Finley?" She still asked in her high pitched voice.

Harry was begging her through his eyes not to say anything. It could put them both in trouble. But she already had something in mind.

"No, nothing professor." She replied and she nodded as she left her office, closing it with a key and leaving the two of them there.

"Thank you for not saying anything- but how did you know-?"

"Are you forgetting I can feel anything that you're feeling? And I didn't say anything because I'm going to tell professor Dumbledore-"

At that sentence, Harry took Evelyn's right wrist and stopped her from going anywhere. "Listen to me, she's from the ministry, okay? Dumbledore probably can't do anything about it and he has a lot going on right now. I don't want him to have to deal with this-"

"If this is because you're scared that he's not going to listen, he will-"

"He won't Evelyn, you know why? Because he doesn't give a damn about me. He's too preoccupied doing more important stuff and this, this is nothing." He said as he pointed at his hand. "And it's fine, I deserved it." That last part was a whisper but she heard it.

She turned around completely to look at him eye to eye, took his hands in hers and made him look straight at her. "Listen to me Harry." He barely nodded but she saw it and she continued "You don't deserve this, no one does. You've done nothing wrong, okay? Don't let those voices win, don't give them that power. You're better than that, okay?"

With those words, a single tear fall from his cheeks, but she wiped it away. "You're strong. I know that you can take this, but it's not your burden to take."

She didn't know what has gotten into her but she kissed him, deeply. It's been so long since they've shared their last kiss and she was hungry for his taste. He was not expecting it but he didn't rejected it either.

He was as passionate as she was and put his hands on the back of her head pulling her closer. Their lips moved in sinc and it felt amazing after a very rough first week.

As things got more heated, he bite on her lower lip making her moan a bit as she let his tongue slide inside her mouth. She let him and he explored every bit of her mouth he could touch.

His hands went down from her head to her hips, connecting them with his torso, a low groan escaping his mouth as well. They were full on snogging and it was incredible for both of them.

However, it's as if a part of Evelyn's mind reminded her that they were in the middle of a hall and anyone could come any second that made her stop. They were breathing heavily, their foreheads touching. "W-we should go to dinner." She managed to say and he smirk.

"How about we take this to my dormitory?"

But then, an awful reminder came to her mind. Much more awful that the fact that they just made out in the middle of the hallway.

She can't have sex with Harry because then it would mean that they would complete the bond and he will be able to die if she dies.

And that's not going to happen on her watch. She can't let that happen.

"I'm really hungry, let's just go and eat food, please?"

He looked a bit disappointed but nodded anyway and didn't think much about it. She thanked herself for the timing since it was a great excuse not to do what she thinks they were about to do.
