As they gathered in the Gryffindor's common room, Evelyn got to calm down a bit. Luna and Steph were trying their best to give her some space, but it looked like Eve was just depressed. She didn't even know why she was feeling this way, she knew that what Malfoy had said to her was not true.
It was not true... right?
"Eve... stop thinking about it. He did not have the right to say it and it's not true. He only wanted to make Harry mad." Steph said braking her thoughts. Eve looked at them, Luna nodding in agreement. She has never seen Luna so invested in a conversation before.
"Why would you care about what he says anyway? He's a nobody." Eve smiled a bit at that, her mind still racing with thoguhts.
"We should talk about how Harry defended you though! Did you see that punch he threw at Malfoy? It was brilliant!" Steph said and Evelyn giggled a bit at that. It's true, Harry did a good job. She was surprised he didn't used magic but physical force.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, Evelyn looking at Luna and Steph wondering who it could be.
"Ohhh it could be Harry! Open it!"
"But Harry doesn't know the password to the common room-"
"Well maybe someone opened it for him! Go see who it is!"
Evelyn was a bit nervous as he opened the door and did not expect to see Cedric behind it.
He had a sort of sad smile on his face and he felt worse when he saw that Evelyn has indeed been crying.
"Oh hey Cedric." Eve said as she tried to sound like she did not just cried for an hour after the party.
"Hey.. um are you busy? I wanted to talk to you." Evelyn looked at Luna and Steph again, trying to tell them through her eyes to help her out. They only smirk and pretended to do something else.
"Yeah... uh let's go." She was in her pijamas, since she was already tired of having that big dress on. She put on her slippers and went outside of the dormitories and outside of the Hufflepuff tower with Cedric.
The corridors were empty, since mostly everyone was still at the ball or already asleep. The silence was nice, it was comforting although she was not expecting to talk to Cedric tonight.
"So uh... I wanted to apologize. I know you didn't really understood at the time where I was coming from, but I just hope in time you will. I appreciated the time I had with you and we can- we can still be friends if you'd like."
Evelyn smiled at that, nodding her head as they stopped walking in the hallway. "Maybe I was indeed a bit confused, but I guess I do understand where you're coming from. I'm just sad we couldn't be more..."
"Maybe in another lifetime we were together." That made Evelyn tear up somehow. She did not know why, but those words touched her heart. "Also, I'm gonna kill Malfoy for what he said. You are nothing of those awful words, okay? You're sweet and you care for everyone around you. Never go out with him again because I might seriously punch him like Harry did."
"It was a good punch huh?" They both laughed at the memory of Malfoy's face with blood.
"I hope he felt at least ashamed of what he said to you. Anyone who knows you, knows you're nothing like what he said."
Evelyn smiled a bit at his words, Cedric always knows how to make her feel better. She liked that about him. "Thank you for checking up on me. You shouldn't had to."
"Of course I had to. I really really wanted to punch Malfoy too." Cedric could tell that Evelyn was a bit tired now, her eyes droppy but she still had a smile on her face. He couldn't help but pull her in a hug.
He wanted to get back together with her so bad, but he knew it was for the better. He only wanted to make sure she was okay. Plus, he was with Cho now.
Although no one is going to be better than Evelyn in his eyes.
"Let's get back, yeah?" He told her as her head was against his chest, her arms wrapped around his waist. He wanted to stay like that forever, but knew better.
Eve nodded as she yawned and still, he felt his heart racing, wanting nothing more than to have those lips against his.
Maybe in another lifetime he could.

Meanwhile, the trio was going through a rough fight. Ron had said stuff that hurt Hermione and he didn't even know it, and it made her really upset.
"Ron, you spoil everything!" She said to Ron as Harry and him left the ball, since Hermione practically threw them away.
"What did you do Ron?" Harry asked.
"I just- ugh! What does she sees in Krum?!" Ron was upset too, but he did not had to say those things to Hermione. She knew what she was doing, or at least she hoped she knew what she was doing.
"Why would you care what she thinks about him?" Harry knew the answer, he has known since last year that they liked each other, but this year is even clearer. He just wished they would both stop being so stuborn and see that.
His knuckles still hurt from punching Malfoy, but he still felt great he did that without using magic.
"I- Uh.. let's not talk about it. That punch was brilliant! I didn't know you had it in you." Ron said and Harry could only smirk at that. He knew Harry knew, which was enough for Harry to tease him about it. "Stop with that face Harry-"
"Please! Just admit your feelings already!"
"No! It's stupid. She obviously doesn't feel the same way."
"Ron stop being stupid, she does! You are the coward one who can't see it!" Harry just wanted to add another punch for the night and do it to his best friend, so maybe it'll stuck something in his mind.
Ron just rolled his eyes and just as they left the hallway to go into the Gryffindor tower, he saw Cedric and Evelyn hugging. He can't feel jealous. He knows they are not together anymore. But did Cedric still feel attracted towards her? Does she?
He really hopes she doesn't because after tonight, he knows now that what he feels for her is more than just a sibling relationship. He just hopes she feels the same way towards him.
