23: 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛

"Yoo ladies." Denki said, sitting down. Kira, Jirou and Mina were sitting around the couches. Kira recently had more time to hang around the dorms.

Her uncle suggested after the raid she take things slower at the police station. Not filling up all her time, knowing the mental toll it took on her.

"Sup." Kira tilted her head.

"So which of you guys are gonna represent 1A?" Denki asked, leaning back.

"I'm sorry?" Jirou asked, shuffling papers with music notes. It was all nonsense to Kira, she liked music but had absolutely no musical talent. She couldn't sing in the slightest and the mere concept of instruments made her dizzy.

"You know? The pageant?" Denki asked. "At the festival. They're announcing the nominees tomorrow remember?"

"Uh... Yeah no." Jirou deadpanned. "I barely wanted to take the stage and sing. He convinced me to..."

"OMG I would Looove too." Mina clapped, but then she deflated. "But I'm too busy teaching everyone to dance."

"Oh come on." Denki whined. "Momo says she's in too many study groups and Tsu and Uraraka are still interning at their hero agency!"

Kira looked away. Knowing she'd be the next target.

"What about Hagakure?" Kira asked with a frown.

"She said she's been in pageants before and didn't really like them. Plus she lost, I think it's a sensitive subject." Mina remembered from a previous conversation with the girl, in which she ended up crying.

"Heyyy." Denki poked her. "You can do it! Just yesterday you told me you had an empty schedule! And you have the choreography almost memorized!"

"No way." Kira waved his arms away. "Do I look like a pageant girl?" She asked, pointing at her face. Which had big eye bags as usual, but also some messy makeup.

"You look fine to me." Mina smiled. "You should do it!!"

"No way." Kira scoffed. "Pageants are fine and all, I just don't think it's my thing."

"Uhhhh" Denki groaned. "We're gonna be the only class to not nominate someone. Barely anyone cares and no one is gonna put someone's name in if they don't wanna do it."

"Why are you so invested in this?" Jirou asked him.

"I don't know. I just feel like our class should be represented. Plus it seems fun." Denki shrugged.

"Then nominate Bakugou." Mina snickered, covering her mouth. "I'd love to see that."

"He'd love that." Kira added sarcastically.

Jirou snickered. "Can you imagine Bakugou in a dress?!" She covered her mouth with a snort.

The rest of the girls plus Denki all started to giggle. Only for Bakugou to walk in.

Causing them to giggle more.

"The shoes are totally rocking Kira. I didn't know they still existed." Jirou mumbled, hugging her music binder.

Kira looked down at her knee high converses. "Oh yeah, they're totally making them again. For the emos."

"Emos like you?" Mina asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Yep." Kira nodded. She truly looked like a weird kid from the early 2000s. With her shoes and half her UA school uniform. Only wearing her skirt and white button up. Along with a tie that was just tied in a normal knot, not a Windsor.
