"Ito, Emi." Midnight said, queuing her to walk on stage. She threw her hair over her shoulder and started to strut on like a peacock.
"Emi has won several pageants before and likes..." Midnight read the card given to her as the girl walked across the stage like a super model. "The beach, Reading classic novels and Shopping!"
Kira bit at her thumb nail, which has been painted with gold glitter.
"Tanaka, Tammy!" Tammy nervously smiled and walked after Emi. She was wearing a black dress that contrasted against Emi's red sparkly one significantly. Ruffled around the sleeves with black silk-like material as she walked.
"Tammy enjoys Writing poetry, detectives and... Crows?" Midnight said, slightly confused by how vague the last one was.
The crowd watched and clapped for each girl. Whispering about who they thought would win.
The judges were; Midnight, Mic, Recovery girl and surprisingly Hounddog. They watched politely as Midnight introduced each girl. Mic however really wished he was the one doing the commentary, Midnight's delivery was all wrong.
"Itsuka, Kendo. Class representative of 1B! She enjoys karate, making friends and playing board games!"
"Break a leg." Kira whispered to Kendo as she walked on stage. Kendo nodded and gave a thumbs up, her eyes highlighted by her blue dress.
"And last but certainly not least! Kokoa, Kira! Top academic student of her class!" Midnight swung her whip to point at Kira in a theatrical manner.
Her friends waited as Kira walked out.
Bakugou smirked, ready for his friend to awkwardly walk out. He did think this was a little funny, because Kira wasn't the type to do something super girly like this. Right?
But when she stepped out, the light hit her like a perfect golden Sunbeam... She didn't look like his best friend. But at the same time looked exactly like herself.
Kira was wearing a long white dress, it flowed as she walked on confidently. The fabric hung around her neck, leaving a low cut V showing her collar bone and diving down her chest. The dress barely had sleeves, two fabric pieces that fell limply from her shoulders, like two halves of a cape. She had been worried it was too dressy for this pageant. But then she saw Emi and knew they made the right choice.
The dress flowed and draped, nodding at the dresses of ancient Greece. The base of her hero name.
Bakugou's smirk dropped, and so did his jaw. Kira had always been pretty sure, but this was different. She looked like a model. Like a woman. Not that she didn't usually look like a woman... But Bakugo couldn't look at her at this moment and make a joke about her like; "She's not a girl, she's Kira"
Because she most definitely was a girl.
He stared, dumbstruck as Kira walked in. Not hearing midnight as she talked about what she liked. Something about psychology or some shit. He didn't care. He knew what she liked and what she didn't.
He didn't know she could look this gorgeous.
That was his bad though, he should have known that.
Gold leaves decorated her short black hair like a crown of victory. She definitely stood out from the other girls, at least too Bakugou. He assumed it was the same for everyone else.
He stared at her, ears not hearing the applause. Until he felt a nudge on his shoulder. He turned suddenly, snapped out of his daze.
Kirishima raised his eyebrows at him with a tiny smile. "You okay bro?" He asked with a playful look in his eyes.
