The door opened...

"My... How you've grown."

Kira was up in two seconds. She wobbled slightly as she stood up, dizzy from how quickly she had done it. She put her fists up as though she was going to fight the intruder.

Momma.

The woman stood in the doorway. So tall her head was even with the door. She didn't have any jewelry or accessories. Her hair was down around her head. A version of Kira's but shorter and completely white.

"It's alright dear. Sit down, you look like you're ready to faint." The woman said. Her voice laced with manipulative kindness.

Kira didn't, steadying her footing and breathing carefully. Every part of her body was set on edge, the moment she heard that voice. Her body had been in a constant lazy state of rest all week due to there being nothing for her to do. She had worked out as much as she could, but she wasn't given enough food to have a lot of energy.

Knowing Momma that was on purpose.

"It's you." Kira whispered. She felt like a little kid again. Small and weak. Momma towering over her while she was locked in a cage like an animal. Looking at her like she was her property.

But this time there was a stark difference.

One Kira hadn't even thought of before.

"She's lost significant weight already. Good. The way she's holding herself proves that she is trained. Of course she is, UA wouldn't let her waltz around without being able to hold her own in a fight."

Thoughts.

She was thinking. Back then... Kira rarely heard Momma's thoughts. Because she never made contact with Kira on purpose, to be unreadable. But now...

Now she was completely open to Kira. It almost made Kira more at ease... She was human. Not some all powerful boogeyman or demon that Kira could never understand.

Human.

"What's your real name?" Kira asked her. She didn't have to open her mouth to answer.

"Oshita Ren."

Kira had never heard of her. But she liked knowing her actual name far more than she liked calling her Momma.

"My real name doesn't matter any longer. I am the mother now. Momma. My birth name is dead to me." Oshita said. "Can you hear me? Did you hear the answer? I'm curious, Kira."

Kira didn't answer.

"So tell me. How has your quirk progressed?" Momma asked, leaning closer to the bars. Her yellow eyes piercing through Kira. "It's essential to know for either plan. The way she answers will help me determine which one is necessary. So tell me Kira... Can you hear this?"

Kira didn't know if she should answer her or not. She decided against it, keeping her quirk as hidden as possible. It wasn't hard considering her practice at pretending to be normal.

"Why the hell would I tell you?" Kira asked, avoiding the answer to the first verbal question.

"Well it would be helpful to know." The woman stood over her, peering through the bars of Kira's cage. Like she was an animal in the zoo, or a dog in the pound.

"I don't plan on being helpful to you. Not in any way." Kira glared, hands shaking Violently. She was scared, but she knew she couldn't do what she did last time. She couldn't give in to her. She couldn't help her anymore.

If that meant she had to die than so be it.

"Oh come now. What did I tell you about being useful?" Momma sighed, reaching into her jacket and pulling out a pistol. "I can't see how you could have forgotten so quickly."
