Kira's feet were completely frozen to the ground.
He knew.
He knew how Mineta died. Even though they hadn't told anyone... There was only one way he could know that.
He knew she realized that... He knew he was caught.
She was starting to remember the day in the library. A sick feeling of Deja vu. Where Todoroki had trapped her in place, the ice was the same. The person was the same. Now that Kira was thinking about it... Maybe that hadn't been a dangerous misunderstanding.
Maybe he had been trying to kill her.
"I knew this would happen." The boy sighed, walking up to Kira.
"Shoto..." Kira whispered, she rubbed her face, her eyes started to water. "Why?" She asked him as he walked around into her view.
She wouldn't ask if he did it. If she was right, because she knew she was. The only reason he had to stop her was if she was right.
"Why what?" He asked, standing a few feet in front of her. His hands casually folded into his pockets. "A lot is going on. You have to be more specific."
He was right.
Why was he here? Why was he with the league? Why had he tried to kill her? Why was he doing this?
"Why did you kill Mineta?" Kira asked, wiping away a tear. She felt so betrayed. So awful and stupid.
How did she not see this?
"The same reason I'm restraining you." Todoroki stated, there was a dark look in his eyes. "He knew too much."
She didn't have to accuse him of being involved with the league. Now that she had this final piece everything was starting to fall into place.
"He figured something out." Kira whispered. "At the USJ attack. He figured out you were involved."
"Can you believe he tried to blackmail me?" Todoroki asked with a frown. "He didn't go to his teachers, or the police. He didn't try to protect our- his classmates from me. He approached me and tried to get money in return for silence."
"You scared him out of UA. You made him drop out." Kira finished.
"He was a slithering coward. It didn't take much, then he tried to skip town. Didn't make it very far." Todoroki ran a hand through his hair. "If he hadn't been such a piece of shit... The guilt might've killed me already."
He stopped and looked at her. He didn't say anything, his eyes watching her with a piercing sharpness. "This might just do it though."
"You don't have to do this Shoto." Kira said carefully. Putting her hands up. "There's other options. You can turn yourself in." She said slowly. "You're young, I'm sure you have a good reason for being involved with the league. You can give them information on them and possibly get parole. You'd at least have a clean conscience."
He stared at her. "If it was that easy I would have done it already. There are things at play here you don't understand, Kira."
"Then help me understand. I want to help you Shoto." Kira pleaded. She was really just buying herself time. She didn't know what he was planning on doing, but she knew it wasn't good for her.
She wanted Bakugou to come after her. She wanted Midoriya to come back. Maybe he forgot something while training. Anyone. She wanted anyone to come and save her. There was no way she could take Todoroki on her own.
"We both know that's not true. You were just talking about solving the case and taking down the killer. You've solved it but I can't let you do anything about it." He took a step forward. "I really am sorry Kira. I never wanted to hurt you."
