"PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!"

Todoroki cried out. Causing everyone to pause, eyes wide in shock. They hadn't expected such a reaction from him.

Todoroki has always been cold. Monotone and stone faced. He had shown his classmates emotions from time to time but he had never been this vulnerable with them.

"I know... I know I haven't done anything to deserve it!" Todoroki said, one hand clutching the fabric of his shirt over his heart. As though it was physically causing him pain. "I don't deserve to be here and I don't deserve the kindness I've received from Kira and from All Might. I don't deserve your friendship or a chance to explain my actions! But please. Please know that it was never my desire to hurt anyone. I did the things I did while hating it and myself for committing them. But it was the only choice I had!"

They stared at him as he sobbed on the ground. Several of them held tears in their own eyes as well.

Midoriya stepped forward. "K-keep going..." He whispered. "I think you do deserve a chance to explain yourself... And we deserve an explanation. So please... Tell us... why."

Todoroki looked up at Midoriya. Eyes full of tears as the boy looked down at him with genuine kindness. He extended a hand to Todoroki and Kira realized why.

Izuku... Saw himself in Todoroki.

Todoroki had done horrible things. Just as Izuku did. While they were different and some people would argue that Todoroki had done worse... Midoriya still saw himself. Because of that he offered a hand, because he hoped that if he was ever in this situation...
Someone would offer him one as well.

A chance. Forgiveness. Understanding. Friendship.

They were all things Izuku hoped would be offered by his classmates. If there was ever a time he told them the truth about himself.

Todoroki looked up and slowly took his hand. He was pulled up from the ground and then into a hug.

Izuku wrapped his arms around Todoroki. His old friend. They had been in class together for so long, they worked together, they fought side by side. Multiple times.

"Tell me..." Midoriya whispered. Pulling away quickly.

The others waited. Watching Todoroki as he looked down.

"The news about my father is practically common knowledge now. So I assume you all understand my family situation somewhat..." Todoroki started. Figuring the beginning was a good place to start his explanation.

Midoriya nodded kindly. "I know... You told me. At the sports festival."

"My father created me in hopes my quirk would be strong enough to be a better hero than himself and All Might. He married my mother so he could create a prodigy. A child with the perfect mix of Hellfire and frost..." Todoroki looked at his right hand. "He failed."

"But your quirk... It is the perfect mix..." Momo muttered in confusion.

"No... I was born with only one. I was born with the ability to create fire on the left side of my body. That's it." He confessed. "When my mother found this out she grew desperate. My father would force her into pregnancy after pregnancy until he got the child he wanted. He was driving her insane. She received an offer to give me her own quirk, so that my father would never know..."

"All for one..." Midoriya muttered. "Your mother made a deal with all for one."

"We didn't hear from him for years. He had requested favors but... Never asked for them. We assumed we were safe. After my mother was taken away and locked up in a hospital I slowly forgot about it completely. Until I started UA..."

"He asked you to spy on us... I-In return for his favor to you." Uraraka realized.

"I refused." He said honestly. "Until... Until he began to threaten my mother. I did everything I did in order to keep her safe. I sold out all of you... I betrayed the world. Because I wanted to save her..."

"The whole world... For one person..." Iida whispered. It was a horrible moral dilemma. Especially knowing it probably didn't seem like that to Todoroki at the time.

"What would you have done Iida... If it was your family?" Kira asked softly. "What would anyone do?"

He stared forward. He knew the answer. Deep down he knew what he would have chosen. But he didn't want to just say it out loud.

He would have done exactly what Todoroki did.

"At that time... You were all strangers to me... The decision was easy. But then I started to know you all, you're good people. I tried to keep my distance, refusing friendship but..." He chuckled, rubbing the tears from his eyes. "You were all so damn relentless. Before I knew it... I loved you all. You were my friends. A group of people I never dreamed I would ever be a part of After a life of isolation. It destroyed me to hurt you all... The USJ... The summer camp... Seeing you all... And knowing that everything was my fault..."

All might reached towards him. "You never wanted this."

"I know I don't deserve this!" Todoroki cried. "I don't deserve to so much as ask you all to forgive me! But please... Please give me the chance to help! LET ME FIGHT BESIDE YOU ALL AGAIN! SO I CAN TRY TO MAKE UP FOR ALL THE HARM I'VE CAUSED! Let me... Let me fight the league of villains alongside you all. At least one more time... After that... After the world is set back right I swear you'll never have to look at me again. Just please... Let me give myself some sort of redemption."

"You don't have to disappear Todoroki..." Iida said, stepping forward. "Kira is right, you were put in a very complicated situation. I'm sure many of us could have easily fallen down the same path."

"But what about your mom? Is she... Safe now?" Sero asked

Todoroki nodded. "She is. She's at UA... Thanks to Kira and Hawks." He said with a smile.

"It's no big deal." Kira shrugged. "It was fun."

"You could have died." All Might said, giving her a disapproving frown. "But nevertheless we're all glad Mrs Todoroki is safe."

"Thank you for explaining Todoroki..." Uraraka said nervously.

"Yeah I mean... It doesn't seem fair to ruin your whole life because of something that you didn't even want to do in the first place." Hagakure said, glancing around.

"Are we just gonna ignore the fact that he fucking Killed someone?!" Bakugou asked, tugging at Kira's hand. "And He fucking kidnapped you!!! Who cares about his future when he almost destroyed yours!" Bakugou said to Kira. "And we're supposed to just be okay with him walking around like normal?!"

"I'm okay with it." Kira argued.

"I don't expect you to be okay with it Bakugou. Or for you to forgive me, but I promise I won't hurt anyone else." Todoroki said honestly. "Especially not Kira."

"You already hurt Kira!" Bakugou snapped. "I don't care if everyone else is okay with it. I won't forget. Sure you can stay here but if I think for even a second that you're gonna hurt ANYONE again I will fucking destroy you. Got it?"

"Katsuki-" Kira argued. But she was stopped by Todoroki.

"No it's okay. He's right." Todoroki said with a nod. "He'll have every right to fight me if I step out of line. But that won't happen."

"Fucking save it." Bakugou mumbled. He pulled his arm away from Kira and walked back to his room. "I'm going to bed."

Kira sighed as she watched him go. "He'll... come around."
