A/N: let me know if i should continue garage band... in the meantime, have a lil fluff to tie you over!

Phil's POV:

One thing Dan had forgotten about up north was that some of us had swimming pools... my grandparents being some of those people.

Absurd, because the majority of the time it was freezing cold, but they had bought a cheap one from Tesco that took about twenty minutes to whack up, just for the neighbourhood kids.

So I mentioned it to Dan one day, as we were getting dressed for the day.

Mum didn't have enough space, so Dan and I shared a room - "Oh no, I have to share a bed with the world's loudest snorer!" Dan had sarcastically whined at dinner the night before - and I was pulling a T-shirt over my head as Dan pulled on his pants. "I still don't know how, after all these years, you manage to squeeze into skinny jeans," I said to him, checking my phone. Dan chuckled, "These are actually yours." "Oh geez, even tighter!" I said, and we laughed.

Dan finished doing his daily workout of pulling on jeans and walked over to where I was seated on the bed, still scrolling through my Twitter feed. "So what did you have in mind to do today?" he asks, laying his head on my shoulder. I giggle, still feeling butterflies even after all this time, and wrap my arm around him. "Spoiler alert! I actually had nothing planned. Mayyybe a lunch date with Martyn, but I'm not quite sure if that'll happen... he's been pretty busy, but if we persuade him with food, we might be able to pry him away from work. I'll call him now, and see what he says."

I pulled my phone out of my pocket (it still had our Phansplosion! case on it, and Dan couldn't help but giggle), and opened up my brother's number from speed dial. Martyn picked up on the second ring: "Little brother! What can I do for you?"

"Hey Martyn! I was calling to see if you wanted to have lunch with Dan and I today. We didn't have anything planned and it would be good to spend some time with you before we head back home," I replied.

Martyn chuckled: "That sounds nice! Ooh no, I have a better idea. We should go hang at Grandmum and Grandpop's house! They set up the pool they bought from Tesco. I can buy us some floating rafts and pick up a pizza from Dominos. How does that sound? And we head over there at around noon?"

"Yes! I love that idea!" I exclaimed. I looked over at Dan to finalize. "How does swimming and some pizza sound, Dan?" "Absolutely!" Dan agreed. "Dan likes the idea as well. I'll see you at noon!"

"Yes, will do. Don't forget to bring sunscreen! We can't have vampires peeling like bananas. See you!" Martyn said, before hanging up. "Do you even have sunscreen? We haven't had to need it since we never go outside," Dan said, chuckling. I shook my head. "I have none, but Mum might have some!"

We raced down the stairs like kids and Mum found us tripping over ourselves, tumbling into the kitchen. "My goodness, you boys are crazy!"

I laughed and brushed off my shirt. "Mum, I wanted to know if you had any sunscreen that Dan and I could borrow. We made plans with Martyn to go over to Grandmum and Grandpop's house for swimming in the pool."

Dan piped up, picking himself up off the floor. He had fallen when we were rushing into the kitchen. "Yeah, Martyn's even buying floatie rafts!"

Mum chuckled and went back to cleaning dishes. "That sounds like a wonderful way to spend such an uncomfortably hot summer day! 29 degrees! How hot is that?! Anyways, give him a hug and a kiss for me."

I laughed, said I would, and linked arms with Dan to go back to our room to get changed into swim trunks.

"Can we change the station? I'm not in the mood to hear that damn "Honey, I'm Good" song one more fucking time I'm gonna lose it!" Dan cried from the passenger seat. I erupted into a chorus of laughter, and took my eyes off the road to look over at Dan, who was trying to hold a frustrated face. "Dan, I know you're trying to look pissed, but you're also trying not to laugh, and you're really just looking constipated now," I told him. Dan then started laughing too. "Okay okay, sorry." "It is a pretty annoying song, isn't it?" I agreed. Dan nodded and reached over to change the radio.

About fifteen minutes later, Dan and I had finally made it safely to my grandparents' house. I parked the car in the drive and pushed open the picket gate to walk up to the front door. I turned to find Dan hopping on the stepping stone walkway. "Man I don't know if you know how much I appreciate these stones," he said, hopping from foot to foot on the stones. I burst into laughter, "C'mon, let's go inside."

Dan and I walked into the house, and I called out. "Hello? Anyone here?"

No one replied, and Dan shrugged, but I pointed towards the back porch door that was wide open. We could both hear splashing, and my grandparents laughing. "I bet they're all outside," I said.

Dan and I walked out back and sure enough, Martyn was there, sitting on the edge of the pool, blowing up a giant inflatable rubber duck. "Phil!" Martyn exclaimed, walking over to us. "Dan! Oh it's great to see you both," he said, giving us hugs. "Finally, someplace that's not in work context," I said, smiling. Martyn looked happy as well, and invited us over to the duck. "I'm almost done blowing this one up, there's already some others in the pool. You guys can go in if you want."

I shyly began to take my shirt off, and Dan followed suit. "Finally! Swimming!" I exclaimed, and ran up the ladder to jump in with a big splash. I surfaced to hear Dan and Martyn laughing, and watched Dan climb up the ladder too. "Watch this!" he said, and made a big cannonball.

Dan popped up right in front of me. "Hello there," he said, beaming. I giggled furiously and kissed his forehead, "Hello."

Then Dan pulled me under. I was at first frustrated because I didn't have time to catch my breath, but all my frustration melted away when he pulled us in for a kiss. It felt magical, and I probably describe everything that way, but I couldn't stop the warm feeling of love and joy that spread throughout my body immediately. Dan had cupped the back of my head and held my waist, and I wrapped my arms loosely around his torso. I kissed for as long as I could hold my breath for, but went back to the surface. "That was amazing," I breathed, taking in deep breaths. Dan laughed, "I had always wanted to have an underwater kiss."

The last thing I heard was my brother about "CANNONBALL!!" before we all got soaked.
