One-sided Love

"I'VE fallen, Ezrael." Callen broke the silent between him and Ezra after they settled at the balcony of the room where Noah peacefully sleeping. After successfully putting Noah on the bed and made him sleep after throwing tantrums, they decided to stay at the balcony.

They were silent  for a couple of minutes until Callen finally decided to broke the silence because he's the subject of this matter. He's responsible for everything's happened and he felt guilty for taking advantage of Noah's current state. Between the two of them, it was him who has a clear mind yet he let himself swayed by Noah's action.

Ezra look at him, shocked, confused— there were mixed emotion clearly written on his face.

"You've what? Fallen?" Gulat na may halong kaguluhang tanong nito. "To whom?"

Callen lightly shook his head. "Do I have to tell you, isn't it already obvious?"

Laglag ang pangang tinitigan siya ng kaibigan nang mapagtanto nito kung sino ang tinutukoy niya. Ilang sandali itong tulalang nakatingin lang sa kanya at nang mahimasmasan ay sunod-sunod pa itong tumikhim.

It was a good thing that Ezra is fast to pick everything up. "I'm literally shocked Bro, but hear me out, let me tell you this first." He paused, took a deep breath before starting to open his mouth to speak again. "You changing preference doesn't change anything to me, you're still my best friend. You like men? Then so be it. And thank you for telling me this, this might be a sudden coming out for you but I'm still grateful it was me to know it first. Kahit hindi mo sabihin confident akong ako palang ang pinagsabihan mo at ang unang nakakaalam." Anang kaibigan at marahang tinapik pa nito ang balikat niya. It might not be obvious but Callen is glad at how Ezra easily accept everything. He couldn't even see even a single ounce of disgust in his best friend's eyes. "But seriously bro, okay kalang? Hindi ba nabaguk yang ulo mo o tinamaan ka ng kidlat? Sa dinami-dami ng lalaki sa mundo, bakit ang kapatid ko? Hindi naman sa ayaw kita sa kanya pero bro, ako ang naaawa sayo. May idea ka naman sa ugali ng isang iyon, so why him?"

Maa-appreciate na sana niya ang kaibigan pero bumanat pa ito nang ganoon.

Napaisip naman si Callen kung bakit nga ba si Noah, pero wala naman siyang maisip. "I don't know." Wala sa sariling naisagot niya. "Do I need to have a reason for loving someone? I think having a reason is not love at all, it's just simply like. I could tell one or two reasons why I like him but I couldn't grasped a reason why I love him, I just genuinely love your brother."

"Naks naman, in love ka nga. And here everyone thought you both doesn't like each other. So, does my brother feel the same way?"

That question felt like he's struck by a lightning, it completely made Callen silent.

Madali naman sagutin ang tanong ni Ezra, the feeling isn't mutual, as simple as that yet nothing's comes out of his mouth.

A few moments of him being silent, he heard Ezra sighed. "Silence doesn't always mean yes, am I right?"

Yes, Ezra was right. The answer to his friend's question is no but he really can't voice it out loud.

Silence doesn't always mean yes, sometimes it means being afraid to admit the truth. In Callen situation, he couldn't answer because he's afraid and this one sided love hurts as hell.

Narinig na naman niya ang pagbuntong hininga ng kaibigan kapagkuwan ay naramdaman ang mahina nitong pagtapik sa balikat niya. "Do you have a plan in mind? Just tell me, I might be able to give you a hand. You're not just dealing with anyone else, you're dealing with the spoiled brat little brother of mine."
