MYRA'S POV
It had been ten minutes since that strange man walked off, leaving my mind a confused mess. Several bandages enveloped most of his face, leaving a faded glimpse of his eyes to recognize him from.
Still, if I had known him at least a slight light would have lit up in the dense clouds of my confusion.
"Here, try this. It's fab." Siddharth's sudden drawl dusted the specks of cloudy confusion off my shoulders. I pulled my focus back onto the table we had placed ourselves on, a few minutes ago.
"Veg sushi..?" I blankly stared at the two colourful cylindrical pieces plated with fancy spread sauce. Not gonna lie, it looked boring as hell.
My brows collided and eyes blinked rapidly as I looked at Siddharth savouring boiled rice wrapped in almost raw vegetables like it was tasting heavenly.
"Don't stare at me like that, I am no ghost." He looked up at me while his chopstick picked up a dumpling. I shook my head and darted my eyes elsewhere for a second.
Resting my chin over my palm, I leaned forward, "Do you like, have a thing.." My head moved left and right before my eyes rested on his curious ones, "for bland food?"
His expressions literally looked like a blank emoji face. Maybe that was indeed a stupid question. I faked a laugh and leaned back. He continued to stare me dead in the eyes, while I tried to focus on the exotic food in front of us.
"Do you have a problem with everything I like?" He narrowed his eyes, glaring at me but all that stare managed to get out of me was a chuckle, "Point hai, my bad."
Raising my hands in surrender, I dipped my head dramatically and......he finally smiled.
"Btw do you know who that man was?" I questioned while chewing on the delicious noodles.
Its flavour fullness brought a satisfactory grin over my face which disappeared as quickly as it came when Siddharth suddenly choked on that bland sushi.
I patted his back, a strange sense of concern painted itself on my face. "Relax." My hand continued to rub his clothed back until he ceased his coughs.
"Do you need water?" He refused and took a long breath. My shoulder fell, the tension finally left me after the redness of his face faded away.
It was only when he looked up that I realised how close I had gotten to him. Siddharth's nose barely brushed against mine and I already lost a big piece of my sanity.
Suddenly my fingers on his back felt like they were exerting some kind of current. I blinked twice, casting away the magic his eyes always seemed to spell over me.
I adjusted my chair back to its original place and wiped the forming beads of sweat from my forehead using a napkin.
The AC was freaking freezing the whole room and here I was sweating because of his two seconds gaze, what the hell.
"That man is actually." Siddharth took a sip of water. "a little mentally unstable." Intensity rested on his shoulders matching the seriousness of his eyes.
It was extreme to the point I felt his words to be phoney but considering the gravity of the claim he made, I chose to not question.
"Ohh.." I let out a soft sigh. My eyes wandered around but I couldn't spot the subject of our conversation near. "His face was all bruised up, how could that be?" A strange ache settled in my heart, giving way to empathy.
