SIDDHARTH'S POV

"7:30 p.m, Friday." I read the time from the versace watch wrapped around my wrist while leaning against my bike. 36 hours, since that incident took place, which took a hunk of my peace away; yet every time that picture of yesterday's morning flashed in front of my eyes, a shiver would run down my spine. Clenching my heart hard until I choked.

Straightening my collars, I cracked the bone in my neck. "Sir, we still aren't sure if he had a hand in yesterday's accident." Abhir stood beside me after parking his car, a look of apprehension plastered on his face which shined under the glow of the street light.

"You are sure that his family isn't at home right?" I gave him a sharp look. A meek "Yes." was all that he managed to gather in response.

Something strange burned inside of me, leaving every fibre in me from head to toe blazing. The bare possibility of that accident being an attack, an attack on her, triggered the very dark spots in my mind that I was unaware of until now.

I had never felt like this, it was foreign and scary. Intensity pumped into my veins. What I felt right now was far dark from anger, like a tough twist of every moral I ever upholded.

The tears she shed yesterday were a knife in my flesh and the person responsible for that will have to shed blood today. Each stride through the entrance of his house reminded me of the heavy lingering weight of metal tucked to the back of my pants.

The doorbell rang in our ears as Abhir pressed the button, the sound was like a siren before the storm. One, two, three. It only took three seconds before Mahesh opened the door and the same three seconds before my fist met with an "accident" with his nose, that he loved pointing in other people's business.

"Arrgh!!" A painful groan echoed in the empty living room. Abhir and I welcomed ourselves in, while the man in front of us stumbled a few steps back while holding his nose.

The grumble of his did absolutely nothing in calming me down. Every cell of my body yearned to hear his screams, for him to go through the same fear I did. The fear of losing someone you care about, a feeling so cruel that it crumbles your soul into pieces until nothing is left breathing.

The only thing Rathore cared about the most was him and his money. My chest got heavier with each fastened breath. It felt as if the logical side of my brain died and all I could see was the blurred teary face of Myra while I was losing myself piece by piece to the fright of something bad happening to her; all because of this man!

Thud! A loud grunt left my mouth as my knuckles banged against his nose once again, this time with even more speed and force. He didn't even deserve the time to register what was happening, not like I was going to give it to him either way.

"Stop-!" A aching yell spilled in the throbbing air between us. Moisture gripped his eyes, his slightly twitching finger reached his nose only to collect hot red liquid flowing out of it.

I pulled his collar with a jolt, "I had warned you once Rathore, you should have listened to me then and there." He shook his head, trying to let some sensible words out but only air escaped his mouth.

"I did put the faulty cylinders there but-" This time I punched his jaw, hard enough to hear a crack. I felt like a monster, but not an ounce of guilt came to me, nothing at all. Maybe I just didn't have any problem in becoming a monster for her.

"Oh you must have a death wish dude" I exclaimed lazily followed by a hollow laugh. My shoes struck the back of his leg powerful enough for him to fall down onto his knees. The sound of his knees touching the ground with a thud echoed in the empty living room.
