MYRA'S POV
"I hope it's not hurting anymore right?" I softly asked the 8 year old girl, sitting in front of me with glossy eyes as I had just cleaned her cavity. Her wobbly lips formed a big pout when she nodded innocently.
My heart melted at the sight of her wide doe eyes staring at me in amusement. Lowering down my mask, I inclined towards her and gently ruffled her hair, "No more candies okay?"
She pouted even wider. I swallowed a chuckle and held out my baby finger for her to take, "Can you promise me that?"
The little girl fluttered her eyes, taking her sweet time to think. I raised my eyebrows and made a baby face hoping it would convince her.
After a beat passed, "Ok promise." she finally matched her pinky finger with mine.
Tackling kids was a hard part of my job yet the most enduring one. Their one tiny smile could wash away all your tiredness magically and when they grab your finger with their whole hand, oh my heart melts away right there.
After I was done dealing with my little patient, I walked back to my cabin which was forcefully occupied by Stella since the morning. "Welcome back miss doctor." Her words were barely understandable under the noise of her munching on the chips.
I had arranged a separate table for her to work with less distractions but she made that table look like a last year hostel student's study table in less than three hours; with a laptop in the middle and at least fifty other random items surrounding it.
"Stella, where are you right now?" I asked in a facade polite tone which hardly covered my growing irritation. My arms were crossed as I took a lazy stance.
She frowned at my obvious question and rubbed a tissue over her lips, "In front of you ofcourse." Shrugging her shoulders, Stella took another sip of her juice and said, "Have you turned blind?"
I rolled my eyes at her wry answer, "This is a hospital."
"I know." She said, a straw forced between her teeth, without even taking her eyes off the laptop screen in front of her. Picking up a crumbled ball of paper from near her desk, I threw it at her.
"Oww.." She whined, glaring at me with narrowed eyes. "Why are you trying to assault me?"
There she goes with her dramatic ass,
I ignored her question and sat on my desk. A sigh rolled down my mouth as I leaned back on the cushion chair. "You are the one assaulting my hospital's hygiene."Opening my notebook, I dated it 1.August. and looked at the pouting woman beside me.
"Clean up your mess." I said while pointing my pen towards her as if it were a sword.
Well, it works fine for stabbing though, I know it. Not that I was a criminal, I just have a younger sister who loves to test my patience once in a while, which is everyday.
Stella huffed and started collecting all the empty wrappers to throw them in the trash. "Won't even let me enjoy." She muttered under her breath but I caught it.
"I heard you." I commented without looking at her as I kept my focus on updating my record of the patients I had attended in my diary. Though it wasn't exactly my work, having back-up data was something which relaxed me.
"Myra." Stella groaned, stomping her foot on the ground like a child throwing an annoying tantrum as she stood before my desk.
My lips unknowingly formed a tiny pout as I capped my pen and looked up at her. "What?" I raised my brows.
