MYRA'S POV

"Noone and nothing can reach you now okay?"

Siddharth didn't laugh like everyone else, didn't degrade my fear calling it childish or invalid.

The terrors were still tangled with the hair on my body, but maybe it was something in his eyes that held my heart stable.

My skin on which thousands of spiders seemed to crawl at the mere sight of that lizard, now his hold around me smoothened everything.

Nothing was crawling over my body, nothing disgusted, just a firm and blissful warmth surrounded me.

Without wasting a second, I lifted my torso a little and hid my face in the crook of his neck. My arms locked around his neck. I was the safestest here..

My eyes were still clenched as I murmured, "Take me out of this room." The words might still be halfway in my mouth and I felt him already walking out of the room.

No questions asked.
A lecture about how I shouldn't not be afraid of such a little creature wasn't thrown at my face like usual.

Siddharth's warm hand stayed against my back like a solid rock. From there, I knew whatever storm may come, I wouldn't fall.

"Pearl." Siddharth whispered softly, his voice held back as if he was scared to startle me more.

My fingers still fisted the fabric of his shirt between them, I was still breathing out deeply to calm myself and my skin was yet to stop tingling.

"Let's just go downstairs." There was no way I would enter that room until that lizard was gone. I can't share a room with it.

"Ok..we are going downstairs hm?" It was the softest tone he had ever used, so gentle it would have surprised him as well. That sentence felt like a tender caress.

First step..second step..I kept counting as Siddharth climbed down the stairs while still carrying me up effortlessly.

Without a hint of hesitation, I could bet my everything that he wouldn't drop me be it thousand more stairs come his way.

"Oh, Sid- Myra..Kya hua? Myra thik haina?" Fuck! I internally cursed my timing. How could I forget that Mrs. Kapoor must be in the living room right now?

Embarrassment busted through every cell of mine till my skin was at least three degrees hotter. I lifted up my lashes a little.

The first thing that came to my view was Siddharth's composed face as if we weren't standing in the middle of the staircase at a random hour in the late evening with me in his arms with his mother staring at us.

Though she sounded more worried than surprised.

However that didn't help, it still felt like someone just poured molten lava over my cheeks.

"Don't tell her please." I clenched on his shirt tighter. There wasn't any place left in me to hold in more embarrassment.

How would she feel knowing her daughter-inlaw jumped on her son after seeing a freaking lizard? I almost jolted at the thought.

"She is fine, mom," Siddharth looked down at me for a second while I blankly blinked at him; feeling my heart racing once again. "Just a little tired."

"Oh," I bit my lower lip as her lovely chuckle reached my ears.

"Well Myra I hope you aren't too tired because someone came to meet you." Though Mrs. Kapoor wasn't in the line of my eyesight, but I could tell that she had her famous bright smile plastered on her face.
