SIDDHARTH'S POV

Thud. Thud. Thud.
The echoing sound of footsteps matched with the thumping of my heart. I was almost too scared to look up since I knew very well who it was. Someone who would snatch away all my peace and I wouldn't even be able to complain.

One look at her and this facade smile of calmness masking my trembling heart would vanish into nothingness. She was coming, I could sense her presence from behind. The elderly couple sitting in front of me looked behind with a smile, staring at their daughter.

Fuck it! When has the shield of my control ever worked against her? I gave into the temptation and stood up, turning around on my heels to greet her. As fast as that movement of mine was, the regret came even faster.

She looked, I was a little hesitant to admit but, she really looked divine. The dress fitted her effortlessly beyond my imagination. The time and money I spent on it was like paying someone to kill me since my heart behaved in such abnormal ways that I was convinced something was wrong with it.

I couldn't look away from her nor did I ever want to look away. A ball of heat bursted in my chest when she stepped closer enough for me to smell that addictive perfume of hers.

Oh heavens! I sucked in a breath pretending like her mere presence didn't lit up every cell in my whole body. "Well..hello." My voice came out raspier than usual. "Uh..hey." She responded with an airy voice.

The air between us stretched pulling onto us in a taunting way and definitely tested my patience which was running low already. I gulped down, discreetly cracking my fingers to free myself from the stiffness that had stilled my body.

"Thank you for the dress. It's gorgeous." She exclaimed with a smile while rubbing her palm against the smooth silk of the dress. I had already touched it during the purchase but my hand twitches, wanting to feel that fabric again. Maybe it became even softer now that it was on her?

"You're welcome. Besides, It really suits you." I smiled and slightly tilted my head. Suits, my foot! She looked gorgeous beyond any parameters there to measure beauty.

"Let's go then?" I asked, pointing my thumb towards the doorway. With a nod she skimmed past me, I closed my eyes feeling my pulse fluttering. That slight brush of her bare arm against my clothed one managed to give me a jolt of electricity.

When did her presence start affecting me this much? Like I could drown and lose my whole being in her. Taking a deep breath, I tried to compose my scattering emotions and turned around to follow her.

"We will be back before 11." I told her father, who just nodded. It felt as if I was asking for his permission for taking his daughter out on a date! Myra bid her parents bye and I couldn't help but notice an invisible wall extending between her and her father.

I kept my pace slower than her which positioned me to walk just behind her as we made our way out. "Why are you walking so slo-" She halted in the middle of her sentence as she turned to look at me. I immediately dropped the hem of her dress I was holding to prevent it from touching the ground.

"Uhh, I feared it would get stuck in a corner or something." Embarrassment washed over me. I tore my eyes away from her surprised gaze and walked forward, "Come on let's go." Without waiting for any answer I opened the front door for her.

Instead of walking out she took a step closer to me. My heart skipped a beat, shit! Don't do this to me Myra. I held my breath in fear that if it touched her, both of us would collapse into the animated spark tugging on us.
