SIDDHARTH'S POV

"That box costs only 500 and same goes for the flowers, you paid thrice their amount too, why??"

I rolled my eyes at his question and let out a huff. Rohan was the head chartered accountant of the company who also keeps a track of my personal spending. He had already called me yesterday the moment he got notified by the purchase I made.

I had already explained everything to him but he won't stop making a fuss about that so, I decided to explain myself one last time.

"I already told you. The shopkeeper was closing his shop, it was late at night and we had a little quarrel when he refused to give me the box. To fir usne gusse me jitna amount bola Maine de diye utne paise, What could I do? I was getting late."

Rohan narrowed his eyes at me and leaned forward on his chair, observing my hardened face closely. He interrogated once again.

"Was it really necessary that you agreed to pay thrice their amount?"

"Yes, She loves strawberries."

I stated with no hesitation. That's just how I am brought up, growing up watching my father bring my mother flowers almost very week. It just felt completely wrong showing up at a date empty handed especially when she loves that fruit so much. Rohan gasped at my answer dramatically and asked while I rolled my eyes.

"What's my favourite fruit?"

"You are being ridiculous, Rohan."

I glared at him but he just shook his head, still sticking to his point like a stubborn child. He was trying too hard to prove his point right. Letting out a sigh, he spoke again.

"You are the one being ridiculous Siddharth. Buying flowers and her favourite fruit for her, Calling a meeting at 6 in the morning and sending your best security men before her clinic opens and you claim to not like her?"

"Yes."

I answered him immediately, his words were only messing up my mind even more and I didn't want that. I don't want to get stuck in some trap of emotions and lose my focus on the things I have worked so hard for.

"Are you stupid or am I?"

I ignored his words and looked down at the file I was working on. Picking up the pen I resumed my work ignoring his presence entirely. I heard him letting out an audible sigh and the words he said afterwards made my skin crawl with a weird sense of agitation.

"Siddharth just make sure, if you ever find yourself falling in love please don't fall alone because that shit will shake up every fibre in your body from head to toe."

"Agar gir gaya na ek bar to sirf tute tukde bikhre dikhenge."

Silence....
For the first time in my life, I had no words to answer him. Goosebumps spread all over my body hearing his words. Slowly lifting my eyelids I looked at him who was standing with his arms crossed against his chest, a pained expression plastered on his face.

I knew exactly what or shall I say who, he was thinking about at that very moment; the only girl he ever loved. I had seen crumbling on his knees as if his whole world crashed down after seeing that girl with some other man. It was a scary sight, how the so called most beautiful feeling in the world, love was coloured red in the blood of thousands, who ever dared to love.

"Please if you ever think there is a chance that the two of you might get alone, just talk about it to her okay? So that she can also put in some effort from her side."
