♡ MYRA'S POV ♡
"Can..I?"
My breath hitched, refusing to leave my throat. I swallowed my own saliva before mumbling,
"Yes."
A little step forward and I could feel his hot breath, close enough to make my earrings move by his deep sigh. I shuddered; it felt as if air escaped his mouth and travelled down my spine.
Without saying anything further, Siddharth's hands were placed on either side of my waist. I had to close my eyes for a second to regain my focus. His fingertips dug on the soft skin of my stomach, warm yet firm. I unknowingly clenched my fist.
His fingertips proved to be soft enough for warmth to slide inside my stomach as if skin was never a barrier. He lifted me up like I weighed nothing, When in reality I wouldn't consider myself light. Food was my closest best friend and I loved everything about it.
I could see the muscles in his arms flexing from the corner of my eye, veins in his forearms popped out looking even more defined. That sight made me gulp, focus Myra.
And just like that, before I could think of anything else, the ground under my feet disappeared and I was in the air with his arms balancing me. In that swift moment I secured my fingers around the glass jar firmly and Siddharth lowered me down, placing me back on my feet.
"Ahh.." A faint shriek escaped my mouth when for a moment I felt like I would fall. My free hand involuntarily clenched his shoulder for support. My feet finally touched the ground but I accidentally pulled him against me by putting too much force on his shoulder.
That movement ended up with us in a weird position. My lower back was pressed against the kitchen counter, one hand held the jar while my other one still clenched the cloth on his shoulder. Siddharth's left palm held the corner of the counter for support, while his right hand was still wrapped around my waist securely.
The concept of time vanished into the little air between us. He was close, too close, I could see the tiny little faint mole on his neck. Our hot breath mingled, my heart picked up an unhealthy place. For the first time, I saw his eyes up this close, they had a strong pull to lure you in.
The eyes poets write about, those must be like his.
Technically I was trapped between the counter and him, normally in such a situation my danger instinct would force me to push him and run away but right now, I didn't want his warmth to go away, not yet.
Another strange thing was that I felt goosebumps all over my body, not out of fear, but because a strange nervousness seemed to be travelling through my body, churning my insides and filling my stomach with a giddy feeling.
The heat radiating from his body burned my skin, as if it was maping every inch of me and he hadn't even touched me at all. Suddenly meeting his gaze proved to be too much for me, I was scared to see the mirror image of my heart in those amber orbs.
"Dii."
A high pitched excited voice broke me from my trance. Siddharth hastily stepped back, coughing out to ease the choking awkwardness as we suddenly became conscious about our surroundings. I hastily walked towards the kitchen island, putting down the jar beside the glass plate with a loud thud as a sigh left my mouth.
Sanvi stood there with a smirk so wide and stretched that it made her eyes glint with a mocking sense as she observed our movements keenly.
She faked a cough and crossed her arms against her chest. Tilting her head, she faked a look of sincerity before throwing another group of mocking words our way.
