SIDDHARTH'S POV

"It's not time for a cake now." A smile of mischief appeared on my face as I stared at the frustrated woman beside me, who sat comfortably on the passenger seat after removing the shoes I gave her moments ago.

"You promised." Myra huffed, a soft frown danced on her forehead as she let out a sigh. My lips formed a thin line from controlling my laughter as I said, "That bakery is 30 minutes away from here."

It was true though, but I would walk to that bakery in my socks if she really wanted that cake. It just felt good teasing her.

"Ohh.." A tiny pout played on Myra's pink lips, her shoulders sloped down, "Let's just go back then."

My eyebrows scrunched up, I thought she would be a little more stubborn. Biting my inner cheek, I focused on the road in front of us, "Yea we will but I need to go to a medical store first."

"Why?" Uncertainty flashed in front of her eyes. I looked at her for a brief second before I answered, "You will know."

The medical store wasn't too far. I halted the car right in front of it and turned my head towards Myra, "I will be right back."

Before she could even react I left. It only took me 3 minutes to buy everything I needed since I was the only customer at this time. As I was walking back to the corner, Myra's eyes stared at the bag in my hand with such anticipation as if she could see through it.

Unlocking her side of the door, I placed my foot on entrance of the door before speaking, "Show me your foot." Myra looked at me like I had three hands, her brows raised high in question.

"I got you a bandage, now let me?" I bent down slightly, extending my arm near her foot expecting her to let me apply the bandage. Something fared in Myra's eyes before she quickly blinked it away and lifted her dress up.

I switched on the lights on the edges to look proper as I enveloped her foot. God! That bruise looked bad. I wasn't unfamiliar with such small injuries but the toleration of even a scratch on her body was something I'll never have.

"Here it's done." I stroked the edges of the bandage making sure it covered the bruise properly. "Thank you." A soft whisper travelled past the short distance between us.

"Uh..I also bought this." I placed a pair of use-and-throw slippers near her feet, "That's the best I could get from a medical store." My eyes lingered at Myra's stunned face for a moment and when she didn't react at all, I pushed the slippers into her feet myself.

As I was about to uncurl my back, a hand grasped my shoulder keeping me still at my place. Myra looked bothered, like some heavy words rested at the very tip of her tongue but refused to slip out. "Uhm, Thank you for this." was all she said in the end.

I gulped down the temptation of knowing every corner of her mind and shook off the tension with a short nod.

"In the clinic I have to run from one place to another so my go to footwears are flats. I never got used to heels." Myra said after I was seated back in the driver's seat. I turned my neck towards her, a thin curl of her hair softly stroked her collarbone. "Oh, that's understandable."

Myra's eyes were stuck at the slippers while I toiled hard against a stupid beating organ in my chest to pull my gaze away from the woman beside me. "Btw, I do have the cake I promise you."
