MYRA'S POV
I was barely able to keep my eyes open at this point. As soon as Siddharth placed me down, I was pulled in for a big warm hug by his mother.
The welcome felt like an absolute dream, so warm and majestic. It had everything needed to make one feel special, from sweet and kind words to all the traditional rituals.
Before the alienated feeling could even touch me, all of them wrapped me up in so much love that a few people wouldn't even get in the house that they are born in.
Though I didn't know most of his extended family, yet their smiles and little gestures of care melted my heart and strangely I stayed at ease around a bunch of people I met for the first time.
But, no matter how happy my heart felt, the tiredness and fatigue was as evident as eyes on my face.
So, thankfully they postponed most of the rituals for tomorrow afternoon since it was way past midnight already.
According to Poonam, they had planned a lot more for the welcome along with firecrackers but the clouds poured water on their plans quite literally.
Right now, as I stood outside Siddharth's room, or do I say our room?, all the easiness buried itself six feet under the ground.
Tingles ran all over my skin, stinging at every inch reminding me that we had to share a room, for what? a lifetime now?
His presence in the open was entrancing
enough and a closed room on the other hand. My throat ran dry.In a few months I had grown comfortable to his presence but how could I forget that my mind loses a piece of it under his hypnotic existence.
The line of rationality blurs, and I meet parts of me that I didn't know existed. It was equal parts thrilling and equal parts terrifying.
My hand almost shook as I tried to reach for the doorknob for the third time but something would grasp my body every time, causing it to stiffen up and I would bring my hand back without unlocking the door.
"Apne hi kamre me jaane ke liye itni jijak?" [This much hesitation, to enter in your own room only?]
I almost flinched at the sudden fruity voice behind me, a shiver ran down my spine lifting every hair on my back up.
Fuck! Heat spilled in my core like a burst of clouds.
Straightening my back, I collected every ounce of confidence left inside me and turned around.
An electrifying feeling travelled past my wavering layer of confidence and coiled in my belly.
Siddharth's silhouette stood tall, as his right shoulder was leaned against the wall with arms crossed against his chest. His stance spoke volumes of confidence and allure.
A sly smile rested on his tilted lips and hair still slightly damped from the rain.
The corridor was relatively dark except for the faint light coming from the shadow lambs on the walls. Siddharth's eyes shone even brighter in the radiance of those lambs.
"I was waiting." I tried to gather as much credibility as I could in those three words of mine.
"Kyu?"
I blinked my eyes blankly for a second. Agitation melted into my blood and beat in every single part of my body.
The corner of his lips elevated further and it felt as if his eyes assimilated more depth than usual. For a moment, I was scared to dive into them, scared what I might find.
