MYRA'S POV

"I have something for you."

Siddharth's whispery words softly pulled me out of my thoughts, I turned my lashes towards him and for the first time the reality looked better than any fantasy.

The golden blaze of the candles crested a graceful radiance on Siddharth's face, causing his eyes to reflect back the same shine, that of sun's rays falling over an ocean.

Those orbs had me so deeply entrenched by them that I hadn't noticed, Siddharth's left hand was hidden behind his back the whole time.

"What?" My voice came out barely above a whisper, my chest felt too tight for air to escape.

A gentle smile wiped the smirk off his face as he took a slow and calculative step forward.

The air between us stretched tight like it always does everytime we would come this close.

Curiosity peeked in my brain as I thought about thousands different things he could have gotten for me, a dress? Bag? Shoes? What if it's a prank? a fake spider? My back prickled at the mere thought.

"Here." The horrified image of a the fake spider dissolved away as I looked straight, Siddharth held out his gift.

A pearl hairclip.... Shit!

My heart stilled. I stared at the white shimmering accessory in his hand, unable to meet his eyes for some reason.

Every ounce of oxygen was sucked out of my lungs, leaving me heavy-breathed. The food I ate in the morning rose up to my throat and settled at the back of my eyes in the form of gloss.

"How," My words slightly trembled under the weight of warmth he showered me with. "I was searching for a hairclip..how?"

No more words managed to escape my emotions swirling chest, I lifted my lashes up hoping to find an answer in his eyes.

Something like embarrassment flashed in his eyes before he quickly concealed it under a faint laugh.

"Really?" Siddharth rubbed the side of his nave, something he would only do whenever he felt hot or nervous and there was no way the centralised air conditioner of this place let a single bead of sweat slip over anyone's forehead.

"I was driving here and saw this clip on a random stall." A shrug of shoulders to brush off my sceptical eyes and to act cool. "I thought it'll suit you so I bought it."

L.I.A.R
I could see it on his face and even if I ignore his strange behaviour, Not even a fool would believe that the clip in front of me was brought from any random staff.

"You bought this from a stall?" I pointed at the clip, brows raised in suspicion.

"Yeah.." That word sounded more like a question itself than an answer. Siddharth's eyes pleaded me to believe him.

The clip shimmered in a way that it could have any jewellery lover swoon over it. Bathed in expensive stones, and diamonds.

Its handles were in the shape of a butterfly's swings, four sleek stoned chains hanging down the clip with a pearl carved in the shape of a heart at the end.

If it was really from a stall, either I was stupid or blind because I would have paid thousands for a hairclip like this one. It was an elegantly crafted, finished and a polished piece.

"Didn't you like it?" Siddharth must had taken my silence for rejection for him to ask that question. I tore my eyes away from the clip, tiny sparkles settled in them as I smiled. "No it's beautiful."
