MYRA'S POV

Three months later,

I was this close to losing my freaking sanity! "25 November.." I read the date on the calendar again just in case it changes this time. Alas! It didn't.

The conference was from 20 to 24 December. A defeated sigh escaped my mouth as I plopped down on my chair and lowered my head to the desk.

Less than a month to the conference, how will I manage everything? With my sleep deprived eyes, I looked around at all the scattered papers and books on my desk, which only multiplied my panic.

"Calm down..," I let out a deep breath and placed my palm over my racing heart. "You will figure out everything."

My voice didn't come out convincing at all though.

Sweater season was officially here, with short cold days and dark chilly nights; season of hot coffee and foggy roads was right there knocking on the world's door.

Though, Mumbai never received that dreamy and freezing winters, yet I loved being wrapped up in an extra large fuzzy blanket but here I was, stuck writing my research work for the last three months.

Last three months....
A small smile spreaded over my face replacing all the frowns. Without lifting my face up from the desk, I directioned my eyes in the front.

A name written with golden ink shimmered in front of me. "Siddharth Kappor Khanna." Something tugged on my heart. This was happening a little too much nowadays...

Once again the wall between reality and dreams crumbled down.

"You know, I hate working in someone's presence." Siddharth gestured to the back of his pen at me, breaking the prolonged yet calm silence between us.

I, who was sitting on the cushioned seat of the window, darted my eyes away from the presentation I was making for the first time in thirty minutes.

Moonlight splattered over the left side of his face as if it wanted to make him one of its stars.

I placed the half filled cup of my coffee down, before straightening my back blocking the way of the moonlight from caressing his face.

"Hello," My fingers randomly tapped on the laptop placed on my lap. "I have a presence too, I am no ghost."

"Right," Siddharth looked up from his file, our gazes collided and a cold breeze of air caused chills to run down my spine. "But you aren't someone."

Suddenly he needed no more moonlight to look like one of the stars, and I needed no more coffee to keep sleep away from my eyes.

~~~~
Was I to be diagnosed with some serious daydreaming disease? Because I had no idea how I ended up sitting on his desk with his name plate in my hands.
A person can remain the same for several years and sometimes one moment is enough to completely turn him into something that never ever existed in him.
I wasn't a completely different person now after the last three months but I wasn't the same either.
Somewhere in between these two things, I had either discovered a new layer of myself or maybe had the new layer painted on me.
