SIDDHARTH'S POV
With one left turn, the road ahead of us turned quieter and lonely indicating that we were close to our destination. A destination which was still unknown to the other passenger in the car.
"Where are we-"
"It's a shortcut." I answered, already knowing the question she was about to throw my way. I had already lost count of the lies I had spilled tonight, it was way past my usual lying rate.
Myra nodded her head and leaned her back on the chair comfortably. Through the glances I stole in between, I could notice the tiredness gradually clouding around her eyes.
"Now." I discreetly messaged Rohan about our arrival so he could start with the execution of the plan.
Soon enough, as I was expecting, the sound of thunder echoed in the surrounding area. It was far more realistic than I imagined it to be.
My eyes shifted to the lady beside me, just to see her reaction. Myra's gaze was stuck outside the window, at the empty isolated roads with no sign of human race.
I slowed down the speed of the car, waiting for the real game to begin. Thankfully it didn't take long for me to hear thick drops of water falling over the car rooftop.
With the pain still beating in my heart, I managed to let out a smile seeing all my efforts coming together to form this beautiful rain. It really looked natural!
"It's raining.." muttered Myra. The faint traces of sleepiness vanished from her tone. She even sat up straight to look at the falling droplets closely.
The car was barely moving at this point. "Why don't you go out and enjoy the rain then?"
Guess the coldness in my voice didn't manage to stand still in front of her for too long, I could feel it melting drop by drop.
Myra looked at me with an unsure look. "But.. your headache might increase if you get wet in the rain." A little furrow settled itself between her brows, just like that tiny, almost negligible, pout on her lips.
The crack in my chest slit deeper for an unknown reason. Why was she worrying about me now? My jaw hardened.
"You can go alone." I stared at the road in the front which was getting more and more drenched each second. My heart was having a hard time beating properly.
"No, I won't go alone. Let's head home for now. We will get another chance to enjoy the rain."
That was the thing. Rain in Mumbai was the most normal thing while empty roads even at nights were the most abnormal and I doubted we would ever again find these two 'phenomena' together again.
Moreover it would be difficult for me to organise such a plan all over again. I had to do something. Maybe seeing her living one of her dreams might fill my wounds a little too?
I needed the motivation of her happiness, right now more than ever, to keep going.
"We shouldn't miss such a chance." Myra frowned, looking at me as I removed my seatbelt.
"Siddharth-" She forwarded her hand, but before another word could escape her mouth or she could stop me; I was already outside the car, letting the artificial rain soak me from head to toe. Letting out a sigh, I walked to the front of the car.
I could hear Myra groaning in frustration as she hastily unbuckled her seatbelt and rushed straight to me. "Hey! Your head was already hurting, what are you doing?"
