𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁: "hey guys wouldn't it be funny if we all played subway surfers but like irl" (this is a little oneshot where lifestealers try to take over a metro train. who lives and who dies is decided by a random picker wheel actually)

The New York subway station is minding its own buisness, as usual. People mill about, swiping cards, moving through turnstiles and scrolling through their phones while they wait for the next train to arrive. The Lifestealers are conducting buisness as usual as well, which today happens to be sulking in the shadows, about to hijack a metro train.
Just about everyone is participating in today's event, lured by the $1k cash prize that Redd probably regretted promising them by this point. The money went to either the last person standing or the first person to hold control of the driver's seat for as long as it took to get to the next station. And everyone was determined to be that person.
In one particular shadow sit FlameFrags and ManePear, who are prepping their weapons behind a dirty-looking bench. An old lady sits in front of them, texting someone on her phone and chatting loudly, but neither of them seem to mind.
In another shadow sits all three members of the PMC, discussing their plan in hushed whispers. They intend on killing everyone, as they think it would be easier to do than defending the front.
Mapicc, Chief and Spoke are lingering alone by the back of the train station, farthest from the control area. They want to have a little more time to get prepared- the train arrives in a few minutes and they haven't fully solidified their plan. Plus, it'll be easier to move through the less crowded back of the train.
Hannah, Woogie and Kaboodle are standing up front with Jumper, Ro and Rek, both teams glaring suspiciously at each other as they prep their weaponry. They obviously intend to hold control of the front, and there will obviously be a battle over it.
In the middle stand various groups- Bacon, Planet and Zam are attempting to stuff themselves into stolen trench coats and wait the battle out in disguise, Squiddo, 4C and Cube are tinkering with a weird-looking gun that currently serves the purpose of sparking and emitting smoke (also known as no purpose whatsoever), and a bunch of people who haven't made any alliances are hiding in the background, individually getting ready for the epic battle.
The flat-toned voice everyone has been anxiously waiting for finally sounds, alerting everyone of the arrival of the train. Sure enough, from the back of the dark tunnel comes bright headlights, preceding the screeching noises of the brakes activating. Some of the Lifestealers don't even decide to wait for the train to stop, instead leaping onto the platforms in between cars or clinging by the narrow spaces on the doors. One lucky VortexDragon manages to leap on first, finding himself at the front of the train before the doors even open.
The doors hiss open, followed by the automated voice announcing the name of the stop. Panicked cries immediately sound as the Lifestealers push to board all at once, brandishing all kinds of weaponry and killing a few innocent civilians. Just about every normal person flees the train, leaving the Lifestealers with the empty subway train that soon closes its doors and begins to move forwards.
Up front, three teams are battling for the front. Kab is desperately trying to force open the door of the control room while Hannah and Woogie fend off Jumper, Ro, Rek and Vortex. Gunshots pepper the metal walls of the subway from both sides' guns, and soon enough Ro is down to a stray bullet. A puff of smoke reveals a little glass heart, which an eager Vortex gladly scoops up and absorbs. With renewed vigor, he continues shooting at the other Lifestealers.
"Kab! You have a knife, shove it between the doors or something!" Woogie yells at his struggling teammate. Kab fumbles for the knife sheathed in her belt, and finally grasps the handle and pulls it out. She's able to shove the knife in the crack between the doors before Jumper's thrown dagger impales her head. She's dead before she hits the ground, leaving behind a heart.
"Ugh, I'll go do it instead." Hannah grabs Kab's leftover heart and runs to the door, attempting to shove it open, but to no avail. Behind her, Woogie successfully guns down Jumper, who dissolves into a heart which he snatches up. Hannah decides to try something new, and she unwedges the knife and sticks its slightly bent tip into the keyhole. After a little bit of fiddling, the door pops open. The knife promptly goes into the head of the driver, who puffs away instantly. Hannah grabs the heart and starts searching for the speed controls.
Vortex finally manages to shoot Woogie, and he vanishes much like everyone else who's perished. The dragon scoops up the heart and starts tussling with Rek, the only one left of the other team, to get through to Hannah. She hasn't found the speed control among the many buttons and levers and flashing lights of the train, and finally a victorious Rek manages to shoot her down with a few bullets. Her heart lies abandoned on the seat as Rek and Vortex start fighting again.
"Hey, hey wait Rek." Vortex seizes Rek's gun for a moment, shouting over the roar of the train. "Alliance? We'll split 50/50." Rek thinks it over for a moment, then agrees. The two shake hands, then shut the door and start working on finding the speed control. Vortex finds Hannah's heart first and absorbs it when he thinks Rek isn't looking.

The train screeches to a stop at the next station. The doors open to reveal bloody carnage from every car, and no passenger dares to step on the train. So the doors close and the train moves on.
The middle's currently a warzone, as Mapicc, Chief and Spoke battle against Subz and Vitalasy. In the background, Wemmbu's hiding in the back, underneath a little bench, prepping something in a dangerous-looking wired box. Nobody seems to have noticed him just yet.
Amid the clamor of everyone yelling orders and warnings to each other, Vitalasy is blown up by a grenade thrown by Mapicc. His heart vanishes a second after it drops onto the floor, absorbed by his killer. Next to go is Chief, who's impaled by one of the subway support poles torn out by Subz. Now it's a 2v1, Mapicc and Spoke against Subz. Against all odds, Subz manages to rip out one of the subway doors and sends Mapicc flying out of the subway with a good kick. He's run over fairly quickly, although his heart is lost forever.
Now Spoke and Subz are left to duke it out in the empty subway car. Spoke finds a grenade Mapicc dropped and tries to throw it at Subz, but misses. The grenade shatters and spills glass all over the floor. This glass ends up being Spoke's downfall, as he phases through the ground and a particularly large shard of glass is stabbed through his head. Satisfied, Subz picks up his dropped heart and absorbs it.
However, his happiness is short-lived, as Wemmbu finally comes out of the corner with his box. There's a lens on the front, and when he turns the thing on a laser comes out and slices off Subz's head along with half of the subway car's top, which starts to precariously groan and tilt. Wemmbu picks up Subz's heart and absorbs it, the true winner of this battle.

The train pulls to a stop again. But nobody's won the challenge just yet- Redd dropped an update to everyone's phones stating that only one person could win the prize. And since there were two people in the front, nobody had won. And neither trusted the other enough to let them claim it and split, so they were fighting again.
In another train car, Parrot is facing off against the PMC. The feathered man, clearly outnumbered by three great fighters, is desperately trying to retreat towards the front, sliding open car door after car door to escape. All three gave chase- Clown dragged a revving chainsaw, Minute a machine gun (that was spraying wildly everywhere) and Leo with twin daggers.
Parrot paused at one of the bridges between train cars, aiming his pistol at the first person to emerge from the open door, which happened to be Leo. One shot, two shots and he fell from the small platform, limp body collapsing over the side of the train and promptly getting run over. Clown and Minute were still behind him, so Parrot continued running.
He paused in another train car. The front was one car away- if he could just kill one of them perhaps it would be enough to secure him at least a fair fight when they got up front. He stilled his shaking hand and started rapidly firing at the entrance to the car. Miraculously, the bullets hit the familiar plastic mask of ClownPierce, who fell and puffed into smoke. Parrot ran forward and seized his heart and chainsaw, moving to duel Minute.
Unfortunately for them, a laser suddenly poked out from the top of the subway car, slicing off the roof. The bright red beam lowered and sliced across the subway car. Minute was able to duck, already low to the ground thanks to the heavy machine gun, but Parrot's head was very quickly chopped off. He disappeared, and Minute swiftly picked up his heart and moved forwards.

The train slows to another stop. Rek and Vortex are still fighting up front, so it continues to move on.
Branzy, Ash and Pangi are dueling in one of the rear subway cars. Branzy's killed off very quickly, three bullets in his head. The two remaining Lifestealers scramble to reach the heart first, and it's Ash who succeeds in absorbing it first. Then they're back to dueling- Ash is fighting with two gold-plated Glocks, and Pangi's using a medieval longsword he "borrowed" from a museum (surprisingly, it holds up well when it comes to blocking bullets).
The two engage in back and forth for a while before Pangi finally falls, his sword failing to block a well-aimed bullet from the other man. However, the laser comes for everyone, it seems, as Wemmbu's red light appears out of nowhere and slices straight through Ash. How disappointing.

The train stops again. Rek's managed to sustain control of the control room just long enough to win the prize, at least until Wemmbu decides to spin in a circle and kills absolutely everyone on the train. Unfortunately for him, the device created by Squiddo, 4C and Cube has still not been fixed, and when he slices through it a colossal explosion is generated that kills him too. So nobody gets any money!
