TW: talking about a Case
Homophobia

Y/N's POV

We all take a seat at the small conference table that the local police have assigned us.
The police station is small and cluttered. There are stacks of files everywhere and it smells of old coffee and musty books.

The walls are painted a dreary, dirty beige, old wanted posters hang everywhere and every police officer who works here looks grey and tired.

We have cleared the conference room as much as possible, otherwise it is obviously used as a storage room and the camp bed in the back corner reveals that the occasional nap is also held here.

That says a lot about how seriously crime is probably taken here.
We have a lot of work ahead of us and we probably can't count on any active support.

I'm sitting between JJ and Tara, opposite us Emily is standing in front of the large bulletin board.
Emily explains to us again exactly what we're dealing with here, we didn't have a proper briefing in the BAU, but flew here directly when the police asked us.
"We have two female bodies, each found 2 weeks apart on the steps of this church.
They were wearing black and were placed bent over as if they were praying."
Emily points to the photos on the bulletin board.

Penelope sent us all the info on the tablets, but we all need the photos on the bulletin board for an overview and to see the connections better.

"Both victims had a close connection to the church." Luke states as he swipes through the data on his tablet.

"Oh yes. Like everyone in this town, really.
The first victim, Stephanie Griffins, was the food distribution manager.
She sang in the church choir and her son is part of the youth group.
The whole family is an integral part of the community." Emily explains and then continues:
"The second victim was younger. Katy led the youth camps, was also in the church choir and regularly helped out at the service."
She points to the photo of a pretty, young woman with dark curls and an infectious laugh.

"We also have a survivor.
Anna, she is just 16 and the girlfriend of the first victim's son. She grew up in this community and is a popular member of the youth group.
She was attacked in the church but managed to escape."

"Did she see the Unsub?" asks Rossi.

"We don't know. She doesn't say a word.
Not a single one about this incident.
She had told the youth group leader when he found her after the attack, but when the police wanted a statement, she kept quiet." Emily sighs and sinks into the chair opposite us.

I can't take my eyes off her.
Watching her in her element, as a unit chief, as a profiler, is so impressive.
She looks so hot.

Emily seems to feel her gaze on her, she looks over at me and when our eyes meet I see a slight smirk playing in the corner of her mouth.
I feel warm and everything inside me tingles, like it always does when she looks at me so intensely.

It's impressive how she manages to remain completely professional and at the same time flirt with me so discreetly that I get all hot.

I lower my head to hide my flushed cheeks and try to concentrate on the case.

This is completely the wrong time for something like this. But I Love it.

"Do we have a suspect? Did anyone in the community hear or see anything?" JJ asks, putting her tablet on the table and pushing it between us so that I can look at it too.
