You can't find me

Chapter 31

"What the hell?! You got to argue with the crowned prince? Oh my gosh how didn't he behead you right there!!? This is all so cool!" Tara exclaims.

Me and Ry both smile at her innocence. If only she knew all the things we had to endure over there.

We hadn't even made it near the school till we say Tara walking down the trail. I bet her heart would have stopped if Ry hadn't caught her while she stared at us. 

"Where are all the others?" I say while kicking a rock near my foot. 

"Oh they're all over the place. The twins are out of town for break. Estel went to cry in the city at her aunt's after Lav went, who knows if she even took her exams. Others are here taking some courses or working. If your going back can I come with? I would like to see where you guys are living." 

Ry gives me a look to which I respond, "Well Tara we have break too now so we're planning to hold off going back there till we get closer to school starting again." 

She twirls a lock of her hair with her finger, "Oh no worries! I can go with you then. Our school starts later this time, some mandates that need to passed before it can open or something." 

Well that wouldn't be happening. 

"Oh wait did I forget to mention you both are glowingg. Like you two look so different but in a good way! The wonders that place can do to- WAIT Did I tell you how ecstatic I was to cross paths with Lucca the other day?"

My mouth hangs open and Ry looks like she's going to break down.

"YOU SAW WHO?" she screams while holding both of Tara's shoulders. 

She gives us both a puzzled expression. 

"Uh I would have assumed you both hung out at the academy? Are you guys not friends or-"

"I'll catch up with you later Tara, I'm going to see him." Ry says and drags my arm over to her horse.

"I'll come with." Tara says while getting onto her own horse.

"NO!" Ry yelps. 

I slap her arm. 

"I uh- I mean we want to surprise him. He doesn't know that we were coming back this early." she explains. 

"Ohhh. Alright I'll see you guys tomorrow? I'm heading to the market now. Bye guys. Loved seeing you again!" 

We wish her the same and wave to her as she heads off. 

"Ry what the hell? We can't have her getting suspicious you know how curious Tara can get! I-"

"Shut up Ari. Didn't you hear what she said? What the hell is he doing back here? That bas*** never had the decency of meeting us once these past few years but is okay with talking to people back here?" 

"He could have been forced not to?" I point out. 

"Save it." she grumbles. 

Once we reach his place there's only a single lamp on inside. Did his family move somewhere else?

We got off Sally, Ry's horse and quietly make it over to his door. 

"Maybe we should knock-" and before I end the sentence she barges into the house with her protective shield up. 

"Who's there-"

We both hear his gruff voice as I see him hurriedly coming down the stairs with a sheathed sword in his hand. 

"What the fuck? How did you-"

For the rock solid build he has now Ry sure is strong as she knocks him over into a bear hug.
