Alexander's POV:

Cas fills his 5th elixir for the night before sitting down in front of me.

"Here's what I think, we can-"

I let out a groan.

"Stop with your rubbish. Not even one of your ideas is reasonable. Make them our guards? Sure, so they can murder us in our sleep. Not that someone can even attempt to murder me but you, Raelyn probably can..." to which Cas growls.

And then I continue. "Throw them in the dungeons? Yeah, such a good idea. Then they can talk to the most dangerous people in the kingdom and find a better way to trouble us. Lock them in our rooms? Yeah, nobody is going to notice and inform our relatives, right? Go to sleep Cas, your not functioning properly." I tell him.

He takes off his suit jacket and stretches in his lounge chair.

"You got a point... But what if we get engaged to the-"

Now that actually makes me crack up into laughter.

"You want us to get what? I can't even breathe in the same room as that girl without wanting to throw her out the window. And the girl you like? The same one who hit you with a vase?  Connect all that to our lives together for the rest of eternity? Hard fucking pass man. And guess what Nik told me, Aurora is a damn Everson. Now imagin-"

Cas starts to loudly whistle at that.

"Woahhh there. Slow down buddy. She's a WHAT? How's that possible. Didn't your parents already uproot the entire family? I mean her abilities... Wait.. That makes sense though, doesn't it? Her mother is a freaking legend. I attended one of the private meetings where they brought her in when I was younger. What I would do to be like thatt." he says in awe.

I roll my eyes at his response.

Sometimes it barely made sense that this is the guy people used to pray for to not be sparring partners with in combat practice.

She wasn't just a "legend" she was beyond dangerous to be let out on the streets. Of course she had control but my dear mother wouldn't listen as they had both been friends at the academy together...

That is why the second she found out where she was hiding they took her and anyone who was related to her as well. (In case they could inherit the mothers powers)

Can't believe we missed one of them though.

"Hmm. What does the dad do though? I haven't heard about his much." he asks me.

I take a drink from my glass and look at him.

That's because the council tried really hard to cover up whatever he did over here.

"He was a foreign student who also studied here. Came from one of our enemy kingdoms undetected and excelled in his class that people started wondering about his lineage. The second they did... Well he left the academy." I tell him.

His mouth drops open as if I told him a good bedtime story.

"So basically both of her parents are badass. What about her siblings then?" he continues while snuggling deeper into the pillows.

"Dude really? Go ask the parents case officer. I'm not a fucking story-teller." I grit out.

It was already past 2 am and I had a long day ahead of me.

The girl sure knew how to fight even after having  just done a draining spell.

He wobbles off the seat and gives me a salute. "Alright Jr. Silva, cya in the morning."

I get up and support him before he can crash or break into another one of the expensive antiques in my room like he did last time.

We reach the bedroom and he rips off his shirt and throws it on the floor. Then heads straight for the nightstand drawer. Before I can stop him he grabs a large green vial and downs the liquid medicine.

I slap his large head and it hits the big fluffy pillows underneath him.

"You fucking buffoon! Your gonna choke on your own vomit while you sleep." I complain.

I take off my shoes and get on the bed to shake him awake. I don't even realize when my own eyes close and go off into a deep slumber...
